Hello Mini Lovers!

My name is Jim Engelmann and I am an Art and Design graduate student and Virginia Commonwealth University. Like all of you I think that the Mini is a fantastic peice of engineering. I believe that the Mini is in fact a work of art and I would like to display one at an upcoming art show. Showing the Mini as an art object allows it to be examined not just as a car but as a very beautiful sculpture (which it surely is).

The only problem is that I'm a student and can't afford one yet

So, I thought I'd ask if there are any Mini owners that would like to have their car in a show in Richmond, VA? The show opens on Friday, November 14. However, there will be other shows and if someone is interested but can't work that time - well, I have no choice but to be flexible.

is it just on friday or all weekend.. I might also be intrested so you may have more than one showing.=) .. I do have a drive im wanting to go on .. on the 15th in hampton as well so i need the details before i can say yes. Now S2000's Mini is a great example of a JCW Mini while mine is a slightly more dare i say "Riced" or Modified version which maybe a bit more than your really looking for.

Further information:

The art show will be at the VCU Fine Arts Building, Friday November 15. We have a couple of places in the building where we can show the car(s). The Mini would need to be set up in the space on Friday afternoon or beforehand. The show / open house lasts through the evening, but the whole thing would be over by Friday night.

Again, I am totally flexible with your schedules (because I am at the mercy of your schedules) and am anxious to help in anyway. Thanks for the replies.

BTW, for those of you interested in my own work, I am a painter and documentary filmmaker. Lately, I've been painting a lot of animals - deer, owls, beers though I don't intentionally limit myself to any subject matter. I'm also working on a short film about artists dedicated to the idea of local art communities.

You know, I believe in an early version of LOTR, Tolkien did have Frodo and Sam DRIVE to Mount Doom in an MCS (The Nazgul drove SUV's)
