I figured there are enough of us down here that we could start our own thread!!

I exchanged beeps with a LY/B MC around 5:30 today at the corner of Kempsville and Centerville Turnpike. I was so excited I could barely return the greeting!

I see 4 different ones all the time but I only get the occasional wave from one guy( fellow EB owner). Just get blown off by the others. None seem to post here either. Probably why they're rude/uninformed.

All going in or out of Langley Air Force Base.

Tried to catch a guy in a CR/B on 264 a few weeks back but traffic sucked so bad I could never get close even though he was only 3 cars ahead.

Got a wave from a guy in an IB/W S on Oyster Point Road last weekend.
Except for me, cajun and Aprilwhine there doesn't seem to be any Peninsula residents here.

I'll admit that I was pretty uninformed on MINI etiquette. I have a bunch of the "Unauthorized Guides" to pass out at the Rally on the 15th - it has some advice for meeting MINIs.

Good idea about starting this thread Jim.

A few days ago, I got a wave from a DS on Langley as I was leaving the commisary. Also, there's another SG/W that I've seen on Fox Hill Rd a few times, but the driver never waves.

Just saw a black MC w/ white roof and rally lights parked at Kempsville Square (Neighbors) Saturday at about 5:30 PM.

I live in the Kempsville vicinity (actually near Salem High School).. I see a LY/B often on Windsor Oaks Blvd. which I use for work & back... A CR/W with bonnet stripes on S Plaza Trail... and now that the new service center is slated to open I won't see them zipping around Checkered Flag BMW/Jag anymore which is right by my office

I brought home a new friend for my MINI today: a 2002 black T-Bird convertible that was my dad's... it will become mine when his estate is settled. It's really something!

I'm kind of overwhelmed... a MINI Cooper and a T-bird! I'll probably still use the Cooper as my daily driver though.

I may make it on the 15th, it would be worth putting some other jobs aside just to meet the local Cooper family

I have a CR/W with bonnet stripes and occasionally do S Plaza Trail, but I think that's somebody else.

I also live by Salem High in Bellamy Plantation.
I came into NAS Norfolk Gate 4 this morning about 0650 next to a CR/W MCS with a Naval Academy Alumni license plate ring. We exchanged thumbs up!

I usually enter NOB through gate 10, so keep an eye out for me at the merge.

I've done Gate 10 as a back entrance, but I'm only over at NOB on a regular basis on reserve weekends. SG is so rare that I'm sure I'd notice you!

Today I followed an IB/W MC almost all the way home through one of my shortcuts - down Witchduck, across Bonney to Baxter, L on Princess Anne, R on Salem Road. It was about 4:30 PM and we exchanged greetings on Salem Road at the Lynnhaven Parkway light. He said he'd be at the rally

, so I'll see you there!

Monday (I think it was) I saw an original Mini on South Plaza Trail..
awesome condition, highly polished black w/white bonnet stripes.

That is a rare sight in the US!! (and it looks so tiny compared to American cars!)

It was a nice convertible day so I was driving the Thunderbird,
so I have no idea if he would've flashed or waved back from a new MINI....

Today while I was walking to my car to leave from work, I saw a SG/W.

It was Sherry! I was so excited. I was enthusiastically waving so much that someone pulled over and thought I needed a ride.

Went to Arbys in Kiln Creek Shopping Center tonight. Saw a CR/B S in the parking lot. Black stripes with white borders and it had a sunroof.
Wanted to stand up and yell "Whos Cooper S in the parking lot" but I didn't
