Please forgive me for jumping the gun here but I want to be sure to get the right date reserved during peak color season this Fall. Yes.. Pennsylvania and New Jersey can be truly breathtaking in the Fall and wow do I have the roads picked out to capture the essence! There will be twisties, tunnels, and small steel bridges on scenic byways. There will also be a picnic by a lake and waterfall exploration.
Sorry... no prizes on this drive.. this one is all about Motoring with Mother Nature!

When: Oct 16th: 9:30 AM
Where: Frenchtown Inn rear parking lot. Click here for directions..

Departure: After a 9:45am drivers meeting we will take off at 10:00 AM SHARP!

I ran these roads the weekend before last and the pictures below reflect what you will see.

The group heads north on country roads for a picnic lunch by the lake just off of one of the old mine roads. Next we head off on our way to where the MINIs will climb Sunrise Mountain for a scenic overlook.

Next we continue on more tree covered country roads on our way to Bushkill, PA where we will explore the falls! Bushkill Falls (The Niagara of Pennsylvania). Plan on spending about an hour and a half here..

Finally, for those who are game, there are dinner plans in the works but have not been confirmed so check back on this post and you will get all the latest!

Great! Glad you are coming.. Sorry you were having trouble with the links.. I added my email address in front of each link now for copy and paste. Sometimes if you are using yahoo or hotmail the direct email links do not work.

I figured it would work better on Sat since most people do not have to go to work on Sunday.. at least more don't then do.. Hope you can make it. and hope the MINI Doctor does well with your car.

AWESOME ROADS!

Before I go in detail.. I want to give a HUGE thanks to Heather ~htrout13~ for tagging along and getting car sick while driving her own car on these backroads LOL..

Pre-run #1 has been completed and here are the pictures.. There are tons of great roads with a bunch of nice twisties and sweeping curves.. see photos below with a link to full gallery with high res pics. This is a bit of a technical run and takes some good planning to pull it off since we are deep into the woods and farmlands.. I may put a cap on the amount of people that can come just so we can fully enjoy the scenery without having to wait for 35 cars behind us.. Any thoughts on that???

From climbing mountainside roads to twisting your way back down to the valley this route is perfect for taking in the magnificent Fall Colors

and scratching your itch for motoring some winding and twisty back roads

.

Would love for you to be there Julie! Sorry its on Saturday but with it ending close to the Poconos I had to go with a Sat so people do not feel pressure to get up for work on Monday.. If there is a chance you can make it then that would be FANTASTIC..
