Anybody have a good shop to recommend for non-warranty service that's close to the city, like Arlington or Alexandria? Or even Springfield? I'm so tired of days off work to go to Sterling.

A very good choice is Craftsman Automotive in Falls Church, (703) 532-5440. A little far out, but right near the Metro and they'll run you to it. It's a small shop, but high-quality (I've been going there 12 years, no complaints) and Alan Himes, the owner, both drives and races Minis, so they know the car well.

Scooter is an 04 MCS, LY/W, white 16", PP, CWP, DSC, grey cloth w/ black -- and a roof rack!
