Date: Saturday October 22, 2005

Time: 11am to 5pm, come and go as you please, convoy to leave Richmond details TBD

Where: Cooper Vineyards in Louisa, VA http://www.coopervineyards.com/map.html

Who: MINI owners from across the state including Richmond, DC, Hampton Roads, southwestern VA, etc. Classic Mini owners welcome too .

Cost: $15 per person for drinkers. $10 per person for non-drinkers. Paid upon entry to the vineyard. Your entry fee will include sampling of the various wines produced by Cooper Vineyards, the band's fee, a Cooper Vineyards and MINI (TBD) goodie bag , a donation towards breast cancer research, and a wine glass.

Wine Glasses: Included in your entry fee will be a special commemorative wine glass featuring a MINI graphic and Cooper Vineyard logo . Both drinkers and non-drinkers over the age of 21 will get a glass. I am working on getting a glass for everybody regardless of age but I think CV is a little reluctant to do it. Even if this is the case, CV will have extra glasses for sale at the event with a price tag of less than $5 each. In any event, everyone should somehow receive a glass .

Wine Sampling: The entry fee for drinkers will include sampling of your choice of various fine wines.

Wine for Sale: Cooper Vineyards will have individual bottles as well as cases of wine for purchase.

Food: We will have 2 choices for eats. You can either bring food with you aka picnic lunch/pot luck OR purchase food from a local vendor onsite. Vendor information: B&B Seafood will offer crabcakes, BBQ, burgers, potato salad, etc for sale during the event.

Music: There will be a rock-n-roll band playing onsite called Joe's Day Off!

MINI Support: We're hoping to have representation from Crown MINI of Richmond including some '06 MINIs on the premises . Cooper Vineyards has placed a call to MINIUSA corporate as well so we'll see if what happens as we may have support from them. More updates as they become available...

Charity Benefit: A portion of your entry fee will go towards supporting breast cancer research . The owners of Cooper Vineyards are also in the medical field and will be donating money to help fight this disease.

Convoy from Richmond to Cooper Vineyards:

Time: 10:00am, feel free to come early, will probably be there around 9:30am

* This Bruster's is located on Rt 33 and is directly accessible from both I-64 and I-295.

* The drive to Cooper Vineyards will take us 45-60 minutes via the twisty roads :-D.

I'm not a member over there on RiverCity, so I thought I'd put in my vote here for July 9! We're moving from VA to CT in July, but if this is a definite date, then I am 99% sure that we can make it again!

We had a great time last year - made the local paper an everything!

This event will take place Sunday, July 17th provided it's cool with Cooper Vineyards if anyone is interested in attending . More details to come so stay tuned.

The event is on HOLD until we can confirm the date with Cooper Vineyards. They would prefer to have it in October versus July...

The event will now firmly be held on Saturday, October 22! It will start around 11am. We (River City MINIs) are planning a drive from the Richmond area to Cooper Vineyards which is normally about a 30-45 drive going the 'boring' way . It will consist of some nice twisties and other back roads . Last year we met up with the HR folks at a rest stop off I-64 but we'll probably have a different meeting location with more space this time.

If you want you can meet us in Richmond for the drive or you can just meet at Cooper Vineyards in time for the event.

They have us on the calendar now! I need to find out more about the food and special MINI wine glass, but I do know there will be a band playing onsite.

Crown MINI of Richmond will definitely be bringing at least one '06 MINI to the event . Exactly what will depend on what they have in inventory at the time.

Mike, this sounds like a great event and I am sorry I will be out of the country and not able to come. It would have been the perfect thing to do on a fall weekend.
