We went to a few events last year and are looking forward to more fun outings this year.

I will try to be there ... right now my calendar is open (but always subject to change!).

On a related Wisconsin topic: Is anyone interested in road-tripping to any of the Road America events this season? The SVRA races are 5/15 - 5/18, Brian Redman Challenge is 7/17 - 7/20, CART race is 7/31 - 8/3, and the Fall Vintage Festival is 9/19 - 9/21. I'm definitely interested in motoring up to the May and September Vintages races...

Did CART and Road America settle their differences? I thought that RA was not on the CART schedule this year.

Can anyone answer this one for us (i.e. - will CART be at Road America)? The Road America website does list the race on their brochure...

It is my understanding that CART will not schedule at Road America this year. The CART web site does not show it scheduled for Road America. However Road America has it listed on-line for the CART races July 31-Aug 1,2,3.???

That pretty well sums up the differences. RA thinks all is fine, and CART thinks RA owes money to CART. Only Chris Pook knows for sure!

On the April 26 Farmer's Market ride -

I learned yesterday that the Badgerland Miata Club will be having a fest at Don Miller Mazda that day. They're expecting over 100 Miatas. Maybe we should tootle on out there and let 'em see what a REAL car looks like.

Getting new info on CART at Road America...
In a last minute deal brokered this week by Mario Andretti, between CART and Road America, the CART race is back on the schedule. Both sides agreed that Road Americas 4 mile twisting course was an important mainstay on the CART tour. Andretti is quoted as saying "this type of track is part of CARTs roots in open wheel racing". Andretti won several races at Road America during his career.

Good news about RA. I know that most of the older drivers (that is, the ones with some experience at Elkhart) really like the track. It is a true European road circuit. And, it's a great show.
