I didn't see in that thread if you are planning like a caravan from Minnesota to Ohio or if you just figure everyone will get themselves there and meet at PKI. It would be really great if a caravan that started in Minn and picked up other MINI groups along the way like in Madison then Chicago, then Indiana. That might be a little difficult logistically though.
The big mystery so far is when this ride will open. There is another thrad about it and so far the info on when this ride will actually open is hard to come by. In fact I don't think PKI even knows and most are presuming that the ride won't be ready for the open of the park for the season.
You are correct. I didn't mention anything about getting there. In the back of my mind I've always thought about something like that. I think that would really be a cool thing to see and be a part of. Once I see the proposal from the park and see dates and events, I can start contacting other clubs about the possibility of pulling something like that off. Thanks for the reminder!
Just wanted to let you know that if you were considering the Italian Job Stunt Ride at Paramounts King's Island, I have received word that the 18th is officially the date.
My apologies to those of you who have prior engagements.
The ride should already be open - hopefully by the time the park officially opens. It's my understanding that our date will be the Grand Opening party for the ride. Even though it may have been operational before this date.
This Friday night, some MINIs from MINIsota Motoring Society will be attending the Vali Hi Drive in Theater in Lake Elmo. We'll meet just a couple miles up the frontage road from the theater and then motor to the drive-in so that we can all get spots together. Our plan is to get there early to get a good spot, but also to break out the grills and beverages before the movies start.
This particular theater is going to be showing the following:
and how about meeting in the parking lot of the restaraunt at the intersection
of 94 and Radio Dr. at 7:30pm http://tinyurl.com/8qwck
It's farther along in the construction phase then is shown in the link, but it's
close to the frontage road and only a couple minutes from the theater. If you
zoom out you'll see it, or pan to the right.
Items to consider bringing:
blankets - grill - food - beverages - chairs - bug spray - money for concessions/video games - camera - pillow
