Thumbs up Mid-Ohio Track School in '03? Would you attend?

Who would definitely attend a Mid-Ohio Track School session in 2003? The cost appears to be $575 for groups of 18 to 24.

In a prior thread, there seemed to be some interest, but no commitments.

I have been thinking about attending the Mid-Ohio School for some time now, and to do it in my soon-to-be-deliverd MCS would be a load of fun. Here is the schedule as of 2/15/03 for the corporate/group program.

If you are definitely interested, please vote for your preferred month to attend. Keep in mind that the weather in central Ohio in April and October can be chilly and wet. There is only one July date showing, the 11th, and that is my first choice.

Also keep in mind that we need at least 18 committed people to do this. The max is 24. While it would be fun to have an all MINI event, if your car was on the way, or we needed additional bodies to make it happen, it could be open to a larger group.

If you would definitely attend, vote and be prepared to post a 50% deposit in check or money order after the track reservation is made. But once you put your deposit down, it will be non-refundable, unless you can get someone else to take your spot.

So - vote your preferred month, and be sure to post a reply with your preferred date, so we can have that, too, as well as be able to PM you with a response.

If there is enough interest, I will be happy to organize this.

Here is the info Romhog had from the original post.

Following the drills and autocross competition, each student laps Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, with instructors leading the groups, for 45 minutes to one hour. with a smile!

The cost of our group/corporate days $575 per person with individuals using their own car. This price applies to a minimum group size of 18 individuals and a maximum of 24. It is an all-inclusive price which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and related safety equipment including helmets.

If you find the individuals in your group prefer to use our fleet of Acura RSX Type-S cars for the drills and/or on-track, the cost is $650 per person.
"

Hope there is enough interest to do this.

Great idea Dave! You may have trouble limiting it to only 24 though.

You may want to check with the Ohio MINI club, MINI OKI or MINI NEO.

I'm with MiniOKI, and I am trying to put this together. When I saw how many would have to commit, I was not optimistic, but we can see here how many would bite for the opportunity to really race their mini's!!

You will definitely be able to get enough people. I think people will jump at any chance to get on a track with their MINI's.

I'll do it if time and money permits.

The weather is getting nice out. Anyone else have definite interest? I hate to just drop this, but if there aren't at least 18 people interested, we're all on our own.

Right now there is something MUCH bigger than this brewing in Indy. Keep your ears open around these parts for more info!

Lol, wouldn't say it's much bigger,it's only 2 laps around indy at 20 mph (which is what the MINI idles at ). Still looking forward too it, just wished we could speed or go atleast 60mph.

Yea, but its also much less on pocketbook. And we get a Race to go to in Sept. I just know that there is no way we can get that many people to commit to a lesson like that, costing as much as most mods for the car!

No offense intended guys, but can we please keep this thread on topic? I'm talking about a driving school or track day. This is instruction, then laps "at speed" around a truly great road course.

The Indy thing is totally different.

At any rate, I'm going to give this another couple weeks, and if there is not enough interest, we can all just book one of the general sessions that interest each of us.
