Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you all know...there will be an OHIO MINI Meet at the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant in northern Columbus on Monday April 28th. Those of you who aren't familiar with Quaker Steak and Lube, check this link, www.quakersteakandlube.com , and find out a little more about them and their incredible wings. Famous around here for their "Bike Nights" and Classic Car meets, local MINI owners, in conjunction with Midwestern MINI, have set up a MINI night! Hopefully the weather will thaw by then, and it'll be a beautiful night to motor on out and show off your MINI to everyone there! They're more than welcome to come up and hang out! Technically, the "cruise-in" will feature original Mini's, MINI Cooper and Cooper S models only, but I am sure we can find a few spots for the VW's across the road

Speaking of which, we now have information postcards about the MINI meet. If you would like one sent to you, simply email your mailing address to gthompson@magcars.com
It has all of the pertinent info, plus, if you get one of the 5 that are wrapped in a golden ticket, you get a free tour of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory!....whoops...late night bad TV movies catching up to me.

Seriously though, it's looking like we're going to have a huge turnout...several people are bringing multiple MINI's, there are quite a few originals coming, plus a few people who have done some significant aftermarket tuning to their Cooper S...by significant, I mean 200+ hp for less than $3000! Should be a great time in a fun, family friendly atmosphere! Keep those informal RSVP's coming...I am keeping an unofficial count. Rumor has attendance being somewhere close to 150 cars...lets get it over 200!

There seems to be a large MINI interest and ownership here in Cincinnati (I have seen many, many MINIs from my apartment window [dig the pun]) but not much going on in the way of clubs or get-togethers. Am I just on the wrong wavelength or is there really nothing MINI going down in Cincy town?

BTW, I'm a LY S with a Power T (U of TN Volunteers) on the antenna.

I will not be able to make it due to school commitments, but I got my S from MW MINI...it would die to go back home!

things in cincinnati are very dormant right now, mostly because I'm coming out of a rather lengthy illness. I'm currently working with Cincy mini and a local theater to host a shin-dig when The Italian Job comes out. Hopefully more things will be created for the summer

150 cars? And you're going to park them where? They'll be back out onto Polaris Parkway.

I may stop by. Have some other commitments, but could always Cruise-In, and then Cruise-Back Out a little later.

i know, 150 cars in that area....we are thinking positively. the MINI is a good deal smaller than your average car, maybe we can squeeze some in where other cars wont fit...like the motorcycle spots

if we do get 150, the result will surely be a true feat in space maximization. in other news, the new Italian Job trailer looks awesome! i've downloaded it at home and watched several times...i think i have figured out just about exactly how each car is equipped. how bad is that?

MAG will be bringing our own "Italian Job" style MINI...we'll see how good it looks next to what you all are bringing. getting pumped up...can't wait!

Ok, who has the Red MINI with signs in their rear windows advertising this event? I saw it parked at the Great Indoors on Tuesday evening while I was there. Too bad I don't have my MINI yet, or I could have parked by it while shopping.

I'm coming up from Cincinnati.What's the address of the restaurant.
I'll be there to drum up clients for Randy,of mini motorsport, to come from Colorado to southern Ohio to do a pulley install for $400 labor and materials.He is checking his schedule to verify dates but it's either June 13-15 or July 11-13.I'm excited about the prospect of gaining that much hp and torque for only $400 from the master of mini modifiers.
