First, as you likely already know, the BMWCCA recognizes the MINI as a BMW at heart and as such MINI owners can join their local BMWCCA ($30 for the primary member and $5 for associate members).
That said, May 24-25th the Northern Ohio BMWCCA is holding a high speed driving school at Mid Ohio. Cost is $325 per person. This includes 2 days of driving classes and numerous lap runs with an instructor in car. I don't have all the details as yet but from talking with past participants you get a lot of driving time.
This price assumes that you bring your own car and helmet (I don't know if there will be equiptment there to rent). My wife and I are signed up and I would love to have a few more MCSs there to balance against all those M3s

I thought I should mention this but if you really need your driving school fix you can get a dual chapter membership and for an extra $13.50 you can be a member of the Buckeye region BMWCCA as well. With this you can also partake in their Mid-Ohio school weekend (not sure when that one is).

Alright, I'm going, albeit in an E36 yellow M3. What I dislike about BMW club driving schools is that I can't use a Z3. I have (rather my father has, but has "outgrown" it) a race prepped BMW Z3 with a cage, hard top, fire system, 5 points...etc. But they won't allow it because it is still a 'convertable'. Oh well [/rant]
Sweet, I'll look for you but you may have an easier time finding me (Mine is the PS/B MCS with the "UBR CUPR" plates). It'll be nice to finally put some faces to the names here on MINI2.

Well nevermind my last post. After two e-mails and 1 phone call, I have yet to hear anything back. Anyway, it wasn't going to work out no matter what. The M3 is not available that weekend, I can't drive the Z3, and I really have no desire to drive the mini on the track. Oh well.
Sorry you can't go Andrew. I know Harvey has been pretty busy lately, sometimes taking days to answer my questions as well. Hopefully there are still slots available.
Note the other thread I posted in this forum for a cheap 1-3 day run at Nelson Ledges early in May. There is also a weekend HDS there through the BMWCCA in early July as well.
Lots of reasonable opportunities to see what your MINI can really do.
