Fellow motorers!

I am going to be heading to the SVRA Road Racing and Tailgate Party at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI on Saturday, May 17th. Anyone who is interested in forming a caravan of MINI’s is welcome to join in at the start, or simply join in anywhere along the route (you will have to do the math yourself to figure out when we would drive by if you were to join us midway).

The tour will depart [RAIN OR SHINE] from the Panera Bread store, which is just south of the I-94/I-39 interchange with Highway 151 in Madison. I plan to be at Panera Bread by 7:00 AM, and after soaking my eyes in some fine coffee, will be departing at 7:30 AM sharp! The motorcade will take Highway 151 North to Fond du Lac, then Highway 23 East, then Highway 67 North to a left on County J to the track. If my calculations are correct, this should put us at Road America by 9:30 AM. No special plans once we’re there, and at that point, it’s up to you to make your own fun! But, how can a vintage car race NOT be fun? No special plans for motorcade back, and departure is at your own leisure, unless we decide otherwise day of event.

I would love to take pic's, if only I had a digital camera! I've got a digital video cam that I can freeze and capture photo's but those photo's aren't the best (i.e. - see my personal gallery). I'll bring the video cam anyways and maybe I'll be able to get a few worthwhile shots. Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it SCooperS! Next time, perhaps?

Just a quick reminder to central Wisconsin MINI motorers:

It's going to be a PERFECT day for a road trip... sunny and warm. First qualifying race begins at 8 AM, so a 7:30 AM departure is essential!

If you can't join in the caravan, hope to see you at the track!

You who did not go missed a great day at the races! Cool overcast morning, followed by mildly warm, sunny PM. Lots of hot cars, but not too many MINI's. Got to do about 8 laps around the circuit... Maggie got to follow a really cool Lotus Elise.
