Yellow Cooper Indiana MINI owners - recommendations near Columbus, IN

Hello Everyone,

I am having to be in Columbus, IN for a client meeting during the week-end of 16-17 August, and am thinking of Motoring out, instead of flying. I'm not familiar with the area, but would welcome some insight from the locals of where I should Motor, and if there are any really good back-roads I shouldn't miss.

I'll be driving from Philadelphia, so anything along the way would be great. I'll probably leave first-thing Saturday morning, so if anyone is interested in getting together for a little "mini" MINI Rally on Saturday afternoon/evening, let me know.

So, questions to the Hoosiers down South:

What roads do you recommend?

Where do you recommend to eat? Some little hole in the wall that locals know about, but not the tourists?

Any special events happening that week-end that are worth going to?

Drop me a line, send a post, let me know.

Cheers.

Scott

As I recall, there is an old style ice cream parlor downtown that can't be missed. Theoretically, Columbus, IN is known also for its architecture so pretty buildings abound.
As for drives, most go to Nashville, IN for the hills and trees. Almost anywhere around there you will find roads that are not straight nor flat. Nashville is also one of those quaint communities that caters to tourists. It is sometimes considered Indiana's artist colony. Just look west on a map of Indiana from Columbus and you'l find it.

There are some nice roads west of the Bloomington area too.
