A couple of us here in the Marion, Iowa, area are starting to organize a VERY low key MINI group. We envision a fall/spring gathering, picnic, drive, such as that with no dues, membership whatever. To the best we can figure we have about a dozen MINIs in the local area (Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and such) and a few more out and about, Tom in Elkader, Scooterman in the Quad Cities area, and the group in Des Moines area. I would hope for a gathering by late Sept, mid October at the latest. If you are in the area (or just want to come on over anyway) and would be interested in joining us give a reply or a PM. You can also stop by the Marion fire station on 8th Ave when the MINI is there and just say Hi.

I apperciate the offer, Madison is just a quick couple of hours away. Figure spring or the Mini Meet in rockford to get together and see what developes. Last time thru Madison (this last spring) I saw one MINI running the E/W southern interstate (151). Yellow I think. Many in town?

Mike, it's hard to tell how many Mini's in Madison. We had twelve tour the Square this past spring, and I know there must be lots more. Maybe we can arrange a road trip somewhere in between Madison and Marion. Fall color?

Now, that may work. We aree trying to plan a gathering this Oct 4 and see how many we can get. I am fairly certain we coud get a couple of us to come up your way, it is always pretty up there in fall. Lets keep in touch and see what developes.

Please keep me posted too. I'm from the Des Moines area, but I'm heading to Chicago that weekend for a concert. It would be fun to add something else that weekend.

We are planning to gather at 11 am on 4 Oct in Marion at Thomas Park. This is the large park along the creek by McDonalds on Marion Blvd @ Blairs Ferry Rd. Anyone from out of town comming in on 380 take or Blairs Ferry Rd over to Marion Blvd and there we are. From the East, come in on 151 from the junction with 13 and follow on thru town to the park. Right now the thoughts are to gather, picnic then is in question, and maybe go on over to Ellis in Cedar Rapids then picnic, then a short drive thru the country side. Again, low key, lets meet kind of gathering. Sounds like 20 or more have already expressed a possible attendence, love to have more.
