Offline | So I've just been informed that my car is at the dealership. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on what to look for, be wary of, pay attention to, etc when taking delievery? If anyone has any advice or tips for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks |

Offline | CONGRATULATIONS!! How can you even stand to sit at work?!! I have heard different stories about how the delivery process went. Some people had the car on the showroom floor under a cover, some had mints on their seats. Unfortunately for me, I had neither. The car was in the service area all shiny and smiling. The MINI expert then proceeded to give me the run-down on the car. How things worked, where stuff was, etc. The cool thing was, he knew that I knew a lot of the stuff already, so we went right to the stuff I didn't know. I have only seen one other new car picked up from the dealer. I was with my buddy and we spent a long time going over things. I was glad to hear all the stuff the MINI expert had to say, even though I just wanted to drive it! By the time I left the dealership it was starting to rain! But that couldn't keep me down at all. Are you going to take some pics? Congratulations again and maybe I'll see ya out there! beep, beep! Adam |

Offline | Congrats Wentworth! So let us know how you like your new MINI. I will be waiting a while, so I need to live vicariously through your new MINI excitement ![]() Well I did it... I put some money down and got on the list for an MCS Now for the wait. Like I said earlier, I really am not ready to take posession now, as I have a lease that will be finishing next July. I am number 140 on the list now. Any guesses on what day I will actually pick up at the dealer?? I am guessing about 8 months which works for me. Wentworth, when did you originally put your money down and get on the list? |

Offline | Friday the 13th So the day has arrived. Friday September the 13th. I am scheduled to pick up my car this afternoon. I am a little nervous because I don't enjoy parting with my money, and this is the most expensive purchase I've ever made. I've looked at my Mini on the BMW lot twice already and it looks pretty sharp, so I am excited too. Once I can sell my other car I will feel a lot better! I've been on the "list" since December 2001, or maybe January 2002. I know I was skipped at least once because I apparently couldn't be contacted (not that anyone actually tried). |

Offline | Minneapolis Mini Hopeful I've been on the order list since mid July at Motorwerks in MN. Since July, I've been number 110, 38 and "high 40's"...in that order. How I jumped back up to the forties after being 38..I dunno. I'm told that I should be able to order in Nov sometime. If I miss the phone call to order I could be skipped until next go-round? Should I just order the car now so they have it all on file? DAR |

Offline | DAR: 110 to 38 in a month or so seems like a pretty quick jump, but back up into the high 40's seems sketchy. I have been hearing people mention that though. Not sure what is happening. So I guess if you order in November, you'll get a delivery 8 weeks later or so? |

Offline | That whole jumping around on the list seems very weird. I would order now if I where you. I couldn't stand it when I had to wait after I had seen the list at the Meet MINI party. At least if you go in and tell them what you want and it happens that they can place a few more orders, and yours get in, how can that be bad! |

Offline | I am sad to report that my MINI was involved in its first accident... We were in line at a stop light behind a Montero. The light turned green and we both started moving, but then the Montero stopped. So did we. Unfortunatley it was because of the Montero's spare tire. There was a dent in the hood where the scoop belongs had I ordered an "S". (are super-chargers a lot to replace?) The radiator leaked like crazy and the hood buckled up near the wipers on both sides. Luckily we weren't going fast enough for anyone to get hurt. I think the only damage to the Montero was some BRG paint on the tire cover. My airbag didn't go off either. My baby is at the shop now and the total for the damage is barely shy of $3,000. AND I won't be able to see my baby complete for 3 weeks the shop says. What's even worse, is that it will be longer than that as I get married in less than 2 weeks and then am gone for a 3 week honeymoon. So it will be the end of October before I am reunited with my MINI! (of course, I MAY just be thinking of other things for those last 3 weeks!) If you would like to send gift to my MINI as it makes its recovery, feel free! |

Offline | together at last! Hi everyone! I returned from my honeymoon to find out that my MINI had been finished the previous day and was waiting for me to pick it up! The drawback was that I had to wait over the weekend to pick her up. Apparantly Collision Center had to order several hoods before they received one that was not damaged in shipping. Finally on the 5th hood, they found a winner. When I pulled into the lot to pick it up, I could see it parked in front waiting for me. It was like picking it up for the first time all over again. I swear I saw it jump with excitement when I pulled in! So far it seems to drive just fine. I have had it about a week now and have driven it nonstop since we got back and still get the perma-grin! I have added a couple pics of the dent that caused all the damage in my gallery here http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...?gallery=adame I am also trying to get some pics of the hood off and the car on the stand. Maybe later. Adam |

Offline | Hey Mini S, I think I saw you at west side Volkswagen in MPLS last week. if it wasn't you someone else in Iowa has a gray MCS with plates "mini s" (I think that's rather unlikely). I'm assuming you took delivery from motorwerks, so does that mean you have to come up here for all you service? If so that should give you plenty of opportunities for some sort of get together, if someone ever sets one up. Of course nothing is ever going to break 200+ miles from the nearest service center. Offline | SOMEONE STOLE MY LICENSE PLATE!! Ok, not really, but "Mini S" is what I wanted. I bought my MCS at Keeler in NY, its EB/W. I dropped off my car at Motorwerks for some service while I was gone for Thanksgiving. I cant say that Im too impressed with that dealer. They didnt even do half the things I asked them too, and along with that they didnt have the courtesy to even wash my car. No paperwork or keys in the car either (I had my spare with me). So far it looks like Ill be heading down to Kansas City for service instead of back to MSP. Mini S |

Offline | Hey hobnob, we had a brief encounter the other morning on the way to work on 35W! I was the BRG Cooper that was along side you for a bit. It always makes my drive to work that much MORE fun when I see a fellow motorer. It must have been pretty cool for all the other people driving, as they got to see TWO MINIs! Happy Motoring, maybe we'll see each other again... Adam |

Offline | This is a little off topic, but do any of you know what the Cities has planned for New Years Eve or where I can find out? I'm gonna be back up in town taking my girlfriend to Manny's for dinner (yes, its worth the 4 hour drive) and doing the festivities. So if youre Downtown and see a guy driving an EB/W MCS that looks completely lost...that'll be me. ;-) Mini S P.S. Any of you guys down near Mankato? |

| MINI2 Newbie | MINI in MPLS All, I noticed some of you are in various MINI owners groups? Would any of you like to get together on a regular basis to go on road trips and the like. Getting together once a month to get some ideas together for more exposure. If we get enough people to join we can do promotions for different MINI campaigns (commercials, dealer promotions, The First Annual Around-the-world-in-a-MINI trip). Let's get together to show our MINIs, share stories/photos from your trips and just meet new people. Why not? Get a hold of me. I already have a few people interested. Let's get together!!! Frozenquest IB/W, 3 pkgs, NAV, PDC, aero kit, bonnet stripes, alarm (hands off, it's already mine) p.s. Which one of you is the green/white Cooper I was weaving with about a month back, traveling towards St. Paul from MPLS? (Driving with their fog lamps on, I took it. )IB/W, NAV, PDC, DSC, 3 pkgs, Aero Kit, Bonnet Stripes, alarm Drive fast and take corners at twice the recommended speed. |
