Your meeting is nearly a month after...allegedly. Now would be the time to have it in stone, dont you think?

Cutting it a little close there for those who may want to plan their trips to it.

A month later $50 to participate, it seems like a good way to bring a little extra income into the park, I applaude them. You would think... at least I would... they would waive entry for all the MINI owner's or at least those with a MINI Key... it's free advertising for them to bring you all in, to have your mini's on lot, all of you wearing, predictably wearing, your MINI Swag... Disneyland offers Free admission to certain organizations, charity events, openings, etc, depending on the venue at play. Wake up PKI... this is more YOUR opportunity than a group of MINI Owner's opportunity.

Just my opinion and view of this whole deal.

Seems like a lot of unanswered questions and no confirmations from anywhere...
No Whens Wheres Whos or How Much.

So your not planning on going then?

I agree that if done right, this could be quite a publicity deal for the park. I like the idea of starting a MINI caravan in Minnesota or someplace then picking up other MINI clubs along the way in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and hopefully ending with a huge group of MINIs by the time it gets to Ohio with perhaps of a joining of other MINI caravans comimg from other directions. And I have always thought these places can make out even if they don't charge admission with what they charge for everything once you get in - but 50 bucks is only 50 bucks and if all the details get worked out even if only a couple weeks in advance - if I have the time I will go and if I go I am mostly going to hopefully be with a bunch of MINI owners like me and to enjoy the new ride and all the other rides and not so much to do the Park any favors. Bottom line is that the failure of PKI to turn this into something bigger and perhaps something worthy of publicity isn't going to stop me from having a good time.

Oh and I definitely appreciate the efforts of those posting here who are keeping in touch and keeping us informed even though the park does not always seem to be on top of it. Good job and thanks.

don't misunderstand my post.
The date the groups are planning are for the 18th of June.
The date the ride has been publicly, projected to be, opened has been May 19th. Even with some setbacks, they have still kept strong on their May 19th date. I have no word from PKI personally, but this is all according to News, Their site, and thrill ride forums.

it does not seem that anyone has a firm confirmation of any date.

I'm in Vegas and the park is in Ohio... I have no plans on attending with a bunch of MINI owners unless the plan has a little more solidity. I'm guessing I may attend the park the weekend of May 21-22... seeing I MIGHT be in PA for the MINI Challenge... See Sig below.

If the ride is not open... whoopie. It'll be there.

But I sure hope that the plans come together, it will be an interesting and fun event for your region! I anticipate reading all of your experiences, thoughts and reviews while looking at your photos of the day. Living through you all vicariously

The projected opening date of the ride is May 19th, but PKI was planning on a separate date (June 18th) for the MINI event the is not coinciding with the ride opening (which to me is a good idea....less crowded perhaps?)

btw, I did make it back to Blockbuster, it seems you can purchase single day PKI passes for 20.99, no strings attached, until June 15th. Seems PKI could do better then $50 then. But we'll wait and see.....

It's a good idea and sounds like fun, but why did they have to pick the same weekend as MoT?

Yeah, that does seem weird -- especially since it's becoming apparent that this could be a random date they picked...

Better let me know when you hit Sin City!

I think it's silly NOT to open the Ride with the MINI event.... Silly.
Poor Planning. It would be a grand affair on the rides debut day.
And it would work out well with the TMMZ MINI Challenge.

But alas, what do we know?

No confirmations of any date or anything.

Maybe all the MINI owners could get together on here for a date to go, and avoid the $50. If we all met at another location and drove in at the same time then we could all park together anyway. I won't be there if PKI wants extra to have the MINIs come in on a certain date. Would anyone like to suggest an alternate date???

also as a side note...

I was speaking with PKI PR nearly a year ago... Communications faded.. as many of you are finding out.
IMO their PR has not considered the opportunity richly enough.
What is happening, what really is happening?

Making everyone prepare to reserve June 18th for something that is not planned, or official planned or even announced by the Park Publicly is pretty bold. It's fun to get excited about it, but let's get real. This is a SIGN UP thread for what? Consider the weekend of the MINI Challenge. It was one of the happy planning anomolies that happened to coincide with the track event, not intentionally planned to coincide with PKI, but if all is as the dates publicized (May19-20) are real, what can you lose?

Just a thought.

PS you can come to the challenge even if you are not running on the track.
EuroStyles East will be there running their project cars and giving away some SWEET product!
Big UPS to ESE!!!

United-States I am going to try today!

This is insane, gold member pass, Thats those rollor coaster fans!! They go to every coaster opening! I have seen them at Kennywood in PA. , They don't have their cards inline. And they will miss out some good promos, PAPERS, Media...etc.
Hope to solve this thing by this week. THE PR PERSON DID NOT CALL ME BACK.
How buy can she really be , its not Disneyworld???
If it is the 18th of June then we have to plan something before that , like on the 14th of May.
