My weekend social calander is filling-up quickly. Hope I can hold-out long enough to make a go of the King's Island weekend. Sounds like it could be fun.

"...I spoke with PKI's Manager of Marketing yesterday and here's what he told me about PKI's hosting of the MINI owners event for the opening of the new Italian Job Stunt Ride:

* There will be NO caravan/drive from Oxford to PKI

* June 18th will be a day at PKI filled with exclusives for MINI owners

* Details on the exclusives will be published next week on PKI.com

* Online registration/tickets will also be available for sale next week on PKI.com

* PKI will be providing a dedicated parking area for attending MINI owners

PKI will be sending details when they become available. I will immediately post the info/link on CinciMINIS.com. Once PKI.com has officially published the info mentioned above, I will submit the link to the various online MINI forums (MINI2, NAM, etc.) for clarification along with PKI.com's "Plan A Visit" Accomodations/Local Hotels link..."

Any word yet on the exact event details? The Kings Island site has nothing about the event.

As of now, I'm not sure where we have to be or what time. I'm working on getting some details - like what's for lunch!

Need a place to stay?

Here's an email from one of our members:

Quote:
As of 5/26/05, I got a call late last night from the owner of the Kirkwood
Inn. They apparently have set aside 5 more rooms for our group. A total
of 38 rooms. To reserve a room call 1-800-732-4741 and be sure to mention
the MINI Cooper group. Please post this for those that might wish to stay
at the Kirkwood. Thanks.

If you're interested in going and need a place to stay, there's room at the Inn!

Oh............... . yeah all it says right now is:

· First ride of the day on new ITALIAN JOB: Stunt Track

· Exclusive Ride Times in the evening on top park attractions, including the new ITALIAN JOB: Stunt Track

· MINIs on display throughout the park

· Free parking and a sectioned off MINI area of the parking lot to park in!

· See if you and your MINI are selected to be a part of The Parade of MINIs through the park at a selected time during the day

· Special MINI breakfast and dinner!

More details would be nice.

Mini owner 3 miles from Kings Island

As an owner of a Cincinnati Mini I'm going too! Whoo Hoo can't wait.

See all of you folks there!

Glad I live less than 3 miles away, it will be fun to see all of "Gary's" friends zooming through the neighborhood.

FYI the park is near a rural section of Cincinnati.
Right down the road is an old ammo plant - a nice twisty turny road - that my Mini loves to drive

I think you all will have fun and if you have questions about the area just let me know - happy to answer.

Cincinnati Mini sponsors annual events - it's always great fun - making this nationwide really has me reved up.

Oh and Cincinnati Mini owners get the 1st ride!

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!!!

Got me tickets and since the Kirkwood was full, arranged a room at the nearby Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest Inn circa 1803. 12 presidents have stayed there and it looks like their restaurant/bar is fabulous! Can't wait!!!

www.goldenlamb.com

They had a few more rooms left for the 18th, but all of the top ones have already been taken. See you guys on the 18th!!!

BTW...we should have a running post that lists all of the people from MINI2 going to PKI. Is there a way to do this on one post, keep adding names? Would be neat to see in adavnce who will be going!

The way to do that is for you to start a new thread, and add names to the first post as people sign up.

I would go, but this conflicts with MINIs on Top.

Roger!

Yeah, and we'll lose people to the Indy F1-GP as well. Poor weekend for PKI to hold the event, but it is not like they are racing/car nuts, so what can you do?

We put an offer in on a house and we are now scrambling to get ours ready to sell. It doesn't look like we're going to PKI.

If anyone is interested we have two tickets we need to sell.. Please PM me.
