Offline | Mini Traveller Poll I'm interested in your thoughts? Would you buy one & why? It's going to have more functionality that the current 3 door, but it's a very limited estate. The handling will not be anything like the current Mini. Do you think it'll need a larger power unit? Should it have themes? i.e. Surfer, Countryman, etc. ![]() |

Offline | I'm not convinced it will Carlos, with weight over the rear of the car, it's going to want to throw some energy on to it. I've never found any car to handle as well as AWOEC (A Wheel On Each Corner) concept. ![]() |

Offline | I'm very interested in one as a replacement for our dog hauler station wagon when it goes, even though it would obviously be smaller. The question for my household is will it be able to carry two people and three german shepherds |

![]() Time for CHANGE ! | In fact the overhangs are quite small, the WAEC principle applies to shopping trolleys in reality. The principles of good handling are weight distribution , steering and suspension set ups. So near perfect or 50/50 weight distribution over or between the axles would be a major factor in how the car performs. The overhangs only come into play if the weight is excessivly biased before the front or behind the rear axle centres. This post is not in anyway related to the BMW Mantra of 50/50 weight distribution, it is just a fact of good automotive design |

| One of the best handling cars I have owned was a Lotus Esprit V8 - big overhang at the front (due to the wedge shape), less so but some at the rear. Also bear in mind a standard 911 - there is a lot of weight over the rear axle - some how Porsche engineers still manage to get a pretty decent handling machine! |

| Living in Mini Wasteland | It is currently on my short shopping list. That doesn't mean that I am going to buy it. I already own a 1960 Traveller that I am trying to get running, so it should match it well. Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman. |

| MINI2 Master | AWOEC. I think I hve the exception that prooves your rule then, a Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin. It has a wheel at each corner, and even one hanging off the rear door, but the road handling is worse than a cow on rollerskates, however off road it does handle better than a cow on rollerskates at least..... |

Offline | I think as a second MINI it would be great- a little bigger with a little more rear room and a little more cargo space with the back seats up. After seeing the concept in person- it is really not that much larger, just a little longer. It seems more family oriented, but to that it'll be a MINI so it'll probably handle like crazy and have good driving characteristics. Just imagine a larger commuter MINI and a second regular 3 door Cooper S for the ultimate performance days! IB/W MINI Cooper- Let's Motor. |

| Keep on Coopering | Yes, it is definitely on the "to-consider-list" when available. I would like to have some more space in the back for my 2 JRT's. Hard to say whether I would buy it at the moment as we have only seen the concepts. Don't fancy the current themes ... ... bit OTT, but that is probably why these are concepts.Re the handling, from that some perspective you could wonder whether you would buy the next generation at all. So far we have only been looking on the outside, how does the car really handle. ![]() Emergency procedure: put head between your legs, and kiss your ass goodbye. |
