a year isn't really that long

there are few threads in the future variants section, some contain spy shots, some contain the rubbish photoshops you find in autoexpress, its just a case of having a mooch about if you want to find out more

There is a few threads on the R55. From what iv seen its quite nice

At MotoringFile, they had a story today saying that full production of the R56 had begun and they were now producing four R56s for every one R52 Cabriolet. In the comments section, someone asked whether there was any kind of ceremony marking the occasion.

A worker at the factory responded and was then asked whether they had built any Clubman prototypes. Here's what was written back and forth:

Funny you should mention it!

There was an initial hand built R55 which BMW had disassembled and us re-build! But in the last 6-8 weeks I think there’ve been 8 fresh brand new ones including two today (28/11/06) in that rather interesting shade of black.

They do look ver nice when finished, especially in Sparkling Silver or Royal Grey - Just imagine you chop an R56 behind the front doors…..whack on about two feet of sheet metal….a suicide door on the RIGHT hand side (reguardless of drive hand)and two barn stylie doors on the back….chrome handles of course! Oh and FYI - the rear lights are built into the body of the car, and the doors close over the top, much like the Clubman concepts. ;-)

I was so excited this morning!

Took me by total surprise!

............. I saw 2 new mini clubmans on my way to work today!!!!!!
both were black and you could noticably see the difference in the roof, and the boot looks so cool. I got my camera out, but the guy i share lifts with is not a mini fan and drove off as fast as he could.
Il be ready tomorrow!!!

It also looked a lot better than what has been photographed in the spy shots on certain websites.
It had a bit of black plastic covering it, but not much at all.
