Offline | Up close and personal with a Clubman in the Cotswolds Hi all, Just got back from a bank holiday trip in the cotswolds. Was just lovely, took our new Parklane MCS for a drive in the country and stopped off at Chipping Camden for lunch. Imagine my suprise when my partner Shawn from across the table (my back to the window) shouts "thats a MINI Clubman driving by!" I turn to see the back end of a sparkling silver/black clubman driving by. Luckly the dinning room was quite empty as I got very excited. I thought it was gone and that was all I could see when we see it drive back past and only park outside the window on the other side of the road! Well! I tried to grab my mobile for pics but realise I've left it in the car! (typical) so borrow my dads digital camera and take some spy shots as the driver (wearing a BMW Tshirt obviously an employee) with his wife and 2 children get out of the car with all 5 doors open. Unfortunately these shots are still on my dads digital camera and hes still up in the cotswolds for the rest of the week but we sneeked out after they were gone and took some photos on Shawn's mobile so we could have some shots for you. It was drawing some crowds as many people didn't have a clue what it was! Here you go: |

Offline | It had lounge leather seats but yellow colour line! Yuck. the only thing I didn't like (apart from the suicide door on just the one side) was the view through the windscreen to the rear. 2nd to last photo shows that theres a very big black stripe right where you should be viewing the cars behind you. Not sure how this is in the car. The back seats had about 20cm foot well gap and the boot was slightly bigger but couldn't see that much as they had the estate boot cover pulled over. Very cool though and had me very entertained all lunch time! |

Offline | One thing I noticed that I didn't really get was that the roof wasn't smooth and rounded edges like on our minis but there were slightly raised up parts on the edges of the roof running down the car on both sides looking like it had slight bumps or horns from the front. I guessed it was for better connection to a roof rack but I didn't like that and didn't lend its self to nice easy cleaning and waxing (and stroking, don't pretend you dont either!)! |
