Offline | Just got back........ I went to the launch event Specialist Cars Stevenage ![]() Bit of a chocolate fest going on there today, with a huge chocolate fountain in the middle of the showroom, and lots of other chocolates ![]() Pick up loads of brochures and got a clubman Lanyard Methinks im gonna put my work pass on it (sorry vauxhall )They had 3 cars in the showroom: Dark Silver Cooper S with Silver UJ on the roof, Silver UJ side repeaters (these are really really nice!!) carbon fibre mirror caps and bonnet scoop and black vipers. Hot Chocolate Cooper Clubman with Checkered roof + mirrors. Pure Silver Cooper D and 3 demo cars : Lightning Blue Cooper S Nightfire Red Cooper D Pepper White Cooper Now the thing that surprises me! My mum was really looking forward to seeing Hot Choc turns out she doesnt really like it She fell in love with the Dark Silver Cooper S and wants one ![]() They gave me the keys to the Nightfire Red Dooper (thank you guys ) with just 10 miles on the clock and so off i went down the A1 I was amazed, as everyone was staring and pointing The car doesnt really feel any different to drive and in the mirrors I couldnt really tell it was longer The line of the back doors in the mirror was there but i didnt find it got in the way to be honest. Did 11 miles in the car Oh and it had stop start function on it too, first time ive driven one with it, i honestly thought i'd stalled the car I think it will take some getting used to on my new Dooper Oh and I want my Dooper even more now ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Just got back from launch party at Coopers Croydon and Iam glad to say I think the Clubman is a fab looking car in the flesh, build quality looks superb. They had a good selection of colours and trim levels, and most importantly a hot chocolate although with a silver roof not black, i think the black roofs look sooooooo much better than the silver as it seems make the car look lower in profile. Also got a 10min test drive in a diesel cooper clubman which was just as enjoyable as hatch. Had some good news and bad news though.... BAD NEWS I couldn't add xenons and chrome line interior to my spec GOOD NEWS Because the car is going into production next week for delivery in 2-3 weeks! HOOOORAH ![]() Ohh well Iam hoping the chrome line interior bezels can be done as retro fit, anyone know if this can be done??? Xenons was a last minute decision and I still think £460 is a bit steep. PS, anyone who's order Pepper white and black won't be dissapointed its a superb combination. John |

| Mini Madness | We went to Dick Lovett Hungerford this morning and met up with Harpo and Stargate there. They had 5 launch cars there, with Silver Cooper, DS/S Cooper S and PW/B waiting outside and Hot Chocolate Cooper D and Blue/Silver S inside the showroom. I agree with the comments above about the DS/S Cooper S, it looks just as good in the flesh as the press pictures from the international launch. We took the Clubman Cooper D on its first test drive at 9am. Drives just like any hatchback Mini, as the extra length is not really noticeable when you are driving it. We liked it, which is just as well when our PW/B Clubman Cooper D is due at the end of the month! Chris & Helen ![]() 2007 Clubman Cooper D ~ 2004 Cooper S JCW |

Offline | New member after ordering a Clubman D last month. Exterior Pepper White with black roof and bonnet stripes, and check mirrors. As a result of seeing the full choccie leather interior today, I have completely revised the inside of my car. It was going to be rooster red leather and cloth, with dealer fit check dash inserts, and piano black trim. Now full on leather lounge hot choccie-absolutely gorgeous. Have binned the check dash too. Will cost me an extra £550 overall compared with the original spec I ordered but I think it's worth it. The car is far better in the flesh than any photos. We squeezed 5 in for the test drive-admittedly including one 12 year old, but the interior leg room was fine. Boot is a bit on the small side-but hey-had they not brought out this model I couldn't have even dreamed of buying a mini. Perty |

Offline | We went to Rochdale I must admit I was very impressed on first inspection i know you can see pictures but somethings you need to see in the metal. First thing was to open the boot hmmm longer but not very tall the flat floor hides a few cubes of space though and those doors wow. The Club door perfect for putting the baby seat behind my seat the extra legroom allowing this now. Overall opinion it just looks good the DS is stunning but not right with lighter silver pillars and its an S colour and I have had it before the White Black combo works so well with the black C pillars Took a passenger test drive 3 plus Baby in comfort very impressive. ....and finally ours arrives for the end of December and James was given a cuddly Mini. I just couldnt resist. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Give me more Fridays!! | Went to the launch last night at Robert Stern! Was pretty good! they had 4 clumans in the showroom and 3 outside waiting to be driven the next day! Only got a few pics from last night but not very many as there were too many people getting in the way ![]() Went back this morning though as we had been promised a test drive! myself and Matt were given the Cooper D Clubman to drive for 30 mins! It's a good car, not sure I'd by one myself, but it is very cool! I don't like that you now have an extra blind spot with the rear passenger door, but I guess you'd get used to that. The stop start function was a little weird, Matt was driving at the time and I thought he had stalled it! That would take a bit of getting used to! Got a few pics of it too while we were out in it today! ![]() ![]() |
