Offline | hi all, we've got a clubman diesel on order which we were expecting to pick up in december. unfotunately the salesman phoned yesterday to tell us there would be a delay, until the new year at the EARLIEST!! this is aparrantly due to a shortage of diesel engines?? has anyone else experienced similar problems???? ![]() ![]() Last edited by mella yella fella : Nov 11th, 2007 at 02:01 PM. |

Offline | I hope you don't mean those morons on Fifth Gear! ![]() Anyone who's driven a (petrol) Cooper and a Cooper D back-to-back should agree the Cooper D has more advantages than disadvantages. I think BMW/MINI will quickly re-evaluate the popularity of the diesels and schedule higher production. |

Offline | I got the impression it was down to engine supply, I'm sure if BMW wanted to produce more Clubman D's it would be a simple button pushing exercise. You have to remember that the engine is used in other cars, like the 207, I guess maybe other manufacturer's use it as well, if anything is is showing that more and more people are switching from petrol to diesel cars. p.s. My Brother placed an order for a Clubman D yesterday and was given a delivery date of December 20th (this year...) maybe it's down to Dealer availability? |

Offline | Yep I believe it's all down to dealer allocation, mine was given only 1 this year for Diesel and luckily I got in first, I think they only have 7 diesel slots for 2008! I guess the bigger the dealer in car sales the more allocations they get, so it's a matter of shopping around if your local one can't supply you. There are always the demo cars if anyone can't wait? |
