So, with Mini Insurance - is that done through the dealer then? Would be interested to see what they quoted. Sorry if this seems a bit on the thick side

I really wouldn't bother with mini insurance if you plan on any mods.
e.g. Just a spoiler added £100 !!! With spots, sunroof, stripes(if they are not insured they won't be replaced) multi function steering wheel they added nearly £350 to our quote.

My insurance was due with Swiftcover.com, very good price
Then out of the blue More Than rang to talk to my daughter so I asked for a quote\
It was even cheaper with smaller excesses as well
So taken it with them

Same here. My son moved back from Lancaster to Bolton and his insurance doubled! They think we're in Manchester!

Wow! Some of you are paying far too much for your insurance : maybe you have bad claims records. When I bought my Cooper Clubman in March 2008 I went on an internet comparison site, put in my details and the best deal that came up was with Esure: £129.15 per annum.

That's fully comprehensive with a £150 excess, and restrIcted to myself and wife as drivers. I have a 10-year no claim record and live in a rural area.

Its worth checking out at Moneysupermarket.com. You will get about 20 or 30 quotes. I just went for the cheapest.

My quote with Swiftcover .com was £245 with £150 compulsory excess + £100 vol = £250

More than was £220 with £100 Compulsory + £50 vol = £150

All the normal, protected NCD, legal, hire car etc

This was for a Clubman "S" - me + wife (who has 3points)

Dont think I tried more than this time I just got used to them being one of the run away fast type of companies when I had the S. Tried comparison sites but wasnt going to change insurers over a couple of pounds and especially now Iggy Pop is advertising E sure .

I did some experimenting last year and dont think i can insure any car for much less than £400 I tried 1 series, Mini One and even Ford Fiestas. It just seems my post code is too dangerous.
I have 17 years no claims, no points and am 35. For those that dont know I live in a part of OL4 its very nice almost suburban a stones throw from the moors sadly stones throw is very apt because this happened in OL4 too BBC News | UK | Police on alert after Oldham riot
