Hi All and a happy new year

New to this forum and as the title says now the proud owner of a Clubman 'S'.
Originally I went to the dealer to view/test a Red/Black Cooper D.
Unfortunately this colour scheme did not do it for me which surprised me a bit as previously (2004) I had a lovely JCW 'S' in Red/White, IMHO the proper Mini colours.
Undetered, I had my 1hr or so test drive but found the car, performance wise, to be somewhat average (apologies here to all CooperD owners).
This may of course be relative as at the time I was driving a modified BMW 120 Sport.

Back to the dealer, my thoughts and attention was drawn to the 'S' and to my surprise in their stock was a car, the car, my car which with the exception of the colour scheme and a centre arm rest had all of the spec I wanted -- Chilli, Visibility pack, MF steering wheel, HIFI speakers, LSD, Anthracite RL.
I was told this was a dealer spec and not a BMW launch job -- gullable, you betcha.

After a short discussion and being offered what I thought was a pretty good price on my 3yr old non-standard beemer, the deal was done.

I am already loving the car despite JC's comments....
Yes it was expensive, anything remotely attached to BMW always is.
Half door on the wrong side, maybe but I doubt I will use it much.
Small boot, only if you thought you where buying a Transit, after the standard Mini it seems huge.
Torque steering, he may well have a point here as I have already noticed this 'feature'.
I will be ditching the runflats asap so it will be interesting to see if this improves.

Come what may I am looking forward to my next 3 yrs motoring and hoping that the Clubman JCW upgrade will soon be available.

the stock tires are actually quite excellent, dunlop's are great tires.

anyway, very good looking Clubman S! they sound nice too!

the clubman is really growing on me now...didnt like it at first but the more i look at it the more i like it....yours looks lovely !
