We too have this little annoying squeak, ours is on the passenger side, all is fine when the seats are lowered or when somebody is sitting in the rear on that side,
As for the rubber door seal just had some warranty work done (upright door trim broken & rubber stopper fitted rear doors) and they say they will not replace it as it was never fitted at the factory, not too bothered though
everything else is fine even managed a 64.3 mpg over a 480 mile trip to top gear track and back

on closer inspection, the noise comes from where the seat back sits against the body.
I dont think its the seat catch, as i lubed that.

Got rid of sqeak by putting small piece of card between seat back and body(temp repair til I can find time to take it to Mini!!) Hope this helps

will give it a go....... Thanks for passing on your research... probably better to pack out with cardboard as it shows you are fed up

I can live with the squeak, it's the passengers who are a nuisance holding their hands over their ears, blocks visibility

due for a first service soon and that squeak is on the list - which isn't too long

99.9 per cent delighted

Had my dark silver/black clubman s for 2 weeks now -- its the best thing ive ever done!

Fantastic car -- but scratch on piano black door elipse on offside on deilvery means i have to pop it back to have it replaced.

Currently been told they WILL give me a nearside door seal trim as im a valued customer BUT then service say its not available as a part because isnt factory fit SO they're ordering one for offside to see if it fits and also getting a nearside one for an older model to see if that works.........dealer boss cant understand such crap cost-cutting on a 20k vehicle.

I have had several problems:

1) pixelation of the sat nav unit.
2) No passenger door seal.
3) misting up of 3rd breaklight and fog lamps.
4) dash rattles, full dash replacement on order.
5) Reer doors gas strut failures.
6) split in leather (started as a crease then split)
7) sticky clutch

I think thats it...

CHRIS27, that's quite a list. I'm hoping all your Clubman ills will be taken care of - and that they're unusual, as well. Please let us know about the resolutions.

Well I am approaching 1900 kms on mine now, and am happy to report no issues yet. I do think I want to replace the gear shift knob (I just don't find it very comfortable compared to my old mini). Otherwise, I've been very happy.

I mentioned I had a bulb warning light I have discovered its the left side indicators when it flashes up I signal left (if safe to do so) and the indicator sounds very quickly. This would indicate (pun) that a bulb has gone. But, it returns to normal after 3 clicks its only done it 4 times so I can live with it. Its good to know my car has some character.

United-Kingdom The missing Door Seal

As stated before, my new Clubman had no Door Seal on the passenger side. I told my dealer who promised to get one, but after a month they couldn't/didn't get one as the factory told them it was not fitted any more.

I said, well the holes are there, would not that encourage water ingress causing rust? They said, well the cars come with 12 years warranty against rust....as I won't be keeping it that long, indeed might be dead by then I won't care anyway.

Well I said why does the saloon and convertible have one? It is exactly the same door. No real answer.

However thinking about this, only the Clubman, both LH and RH drive, now come without this seal. Could the answer be, that it was deliberately omitted to help minimise air pressure when the LH side door is slammed? Obviously the club-side will be less rigid than the equivalent side on the saloon and it might be that pressure could push against the club door and maybe in an extreme situation force it open? I realise that that is the reason why the window opens slightly when you shut the doors but if that feature failed, omitting the seal could be a safety back-up?

Sounds fantastic but can anyone think of another reason for deleting the seal.

Interesting thought. Surely someone in the MINI kingdom should have the answer.

The seals were omitted from both sides on the Hatchback at some point last year as part of a cost cutting measure. It just seems strange that Mini bothered to fit the seal to both doors on the RH side of the Clubman without the seal on the other side.

UPDATE

[quote=CHRIS27;3382616]I have had several problems:

1) pixelation of the sat nav unit. New unit on order.
2) No passenger door seal. One to be fitted somehow, order one of a hatch I guess?
3) misting up of 3rd breaklight and fog lamps. Replacement units.
4) dash rattles, full dash replacement on order. Full dash replacement on order don with sat nave.
5) Reer doors gas strut failures. Replace both struts and re-allign doors.
6) split in leather (started as a crease then split) Replacements seats may be an option to change leather as punch is very soft.
7) sticky clutch Adjusted and fine now.

I was told that numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5 have been recoreded previously on the mini databases more than once. Also the parts for these problems are on back order!! that says a lot doesn't it!!!

My car definately has character, I love it and will do even more when the niggles are sorted.

The car was built n the first week in November for those interested.

Well those sort of issues are all new items (other then the dash) compared to the hatch. So I would say are a 'new car' sort of problem for sure (i.e. new model without much field time). It is the reason I usually attempt not to buy first model year vehicles, as they always improve them a bit after the first year or two.

But I couldn't resist, and am now a 'so far happy' owner. Good to hear they are working through your issues though Chris. To me that is important.

so, after one trip to the dealer, the sunroof seal is sorted, but not the squeaking. Seemed better for the first few miles but returned quickly. Has anyone had this sorted yet?

I'll give the dealer another shot as I've got to take her in for some vandalism damage anyway

Mine heads in for a little list of Warranty work week after next, currently running at:

1) Right side door aperture rubber - deformed/mis-shapen; to be replaced with new.
2) Right side A-pillar - scratched and marked; to be replaced with new .
3) Right side dash airvent - scratched and marked; to be replaced with new.
4) Left side A-pillar - marked; to be cleaned.
5) Clubdoor window coming away from Clubdoor - leaking in from rear of door; window to be removed and mastic seal to be reapplied.
6) Dashboard - rattles/squeaks; hopefully to be investigated/eliminated with 2,3,4 above.
7) Paintwork - swirls; to be re-polished and paint protection reapplied.
8) Right hand side rear light cluster - condensation; to be investigated.
9) Passenger door seal - missing; hopefully this will be fitted

The parts for 1, 2, & 3 have been on back order for nearly 2 months now... FInally it goes in to get sorted Monday after next.

Dealer has been good so far though. Scotthall of Hampshire.

My MCS Clubman had the horn not working at all on collection. The garage checked it out and told me that it's had a short circuit. I don;t know how thats possible as it's factory spec and this is one of items usually checked at the factory so I'm confused how this could have happened.

Anywy its booked in tomorrow for a replacement horn.
