No problems here after 1,200 miles but I am beginning to get annoyed at the scarcity of basic spare parts for the Clubman. For example, the rear wheel arch plastic spats (arches) are on national backorder running into at least 2 months.

This is absurd!

MINI seems to have a tendency to release new models to market with no parts support!

Well, the first 1600 was driving it home. I live in Vegas and bought it in Minneapolis to save money.

Rear doors out of alignment

I was following a Clubby S home yesterday and couldn't help but notice how the rear doors did not line up properly on the bottom edge. The car was Pepper White with Black roof and tails and that may have made it more obvious. I know one person has picked up on this - have you all checked your rear doors? Still pondering a Clubby S.

Several minor problems.

The first was the gas cap cover was an off color. I have no idea how that got past quality control. The car is Chili Red and the cover was slightly darker.

Second was that they missed putting in the velcro in the floor/carpet to hold the front drivers mat in place.

Third was that extra basket thing they give you. The snap came loose so I only have one snap left to keep the thing together when folding it up.

Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman.

I've just had my Clubman in for the fourth time since I bought it in December

1-Rear doors not aligned
2-washer jet pump packed in
3-rear door wouldn't open-part had to be ordered ( cable corroded and snapped, is this going to be a regular occurrence???)
4-rear door fixed and enquired about passenger door seal being missing. I am not happy with explanation I got when I asked what the holes were for if the seal wasn't supposed to be fitted. They said it was for drainage if water gets down through the window. If this is the case there are no 'drainage' holes on the driver door 'cos there is a seal fitted into them! Will be giving them another call tomorrow...
Apart from all this, I love my Clubman!

On closer inspection the rear does are out of line again - looks like it'll be in for the fifth time...

United-Kingdom MINI Clubman great; iPod connection poor

Okay, I've just done 200 miles in my new MINI Clubman Cooper. So far I love the car and all its boy's toys. But isn't the manual rubbish? It comes across like something from a 1980's computer manual - all lost in translation. Really poor covering the sat nav (which I am still getting used to - the lack of full post code support is irritating and unexpected).

On the plus side my iPhone works flawlessly with the communications Bluetooth - of course I have way too many contacts in my address book for the voice recognition to cope but the mini-joystick works just fine.

So far the only thing that doesn't work is the iPod connection. Connect the USB and the iPod (4h gen 80GB Mac fomat) goes into "do not disconnect " panic (yes I have tried restoring it - no difference). I can get a weedy noise through to the car's speakers when I connect the mini jacks but the sound is p**s poor, the iPod doesn't charge and I have no control with the MFSW. CDs sound great though. I'm taking it back to MINI service to get this looked at and will feed back.

Love driving it!

300 miles driven. I have had the triple bong come on twice now. The first time was going over a bump when my son had his hand on the e-brake. I thought that he might have pulled. it. It just happened again going over a bump, the triple bong, and the tire pressure warning light came on for half a second or so.

Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman.

So........ I've had my new Clubman for two months now. I start it up one Sunday and the airbag warning light is on. I took it to to the dealer the next day, waited around for a couple of hours, they check the car out, seems OK and they reset the light. I drive to work, everything is fine, when I start it up to go home, the airbag warning light is on again. So I took it back to the dealership. Evidently the passenger side airbag needed to be replaced and they wouldn't let me drive it the meantime due to safety issues. It took a week for the part to come in. They gave me a loaner car (BMW328ix) in the meantime which was nice, but it's just not the same. the car has been fixed now and the light has stayed off for the past few days......fingers crossed......
I didn't buy the extended warranty because of the supposed reliability of these cars (all red circles in Consumer Reports) but now I'm worried, two months and 2900 miles and it's already been back in the shop for a week.

Try not to expect anything else. It's too bad it happened and that it took longer to figure it out and fix, but fixed it is and you had a pretty nice loaner, too. Don't even think about the extended warranty at this point - you can always do that down the line if you decide you really want to.

Enjoy the Clubman - it's spring, well it is depending upon what part of the USA you live in.

I haven't got one, but I can't say i'm missing it!!

Hey guys, it sounds like the majority of folks here are missing the rubber seal on the passenger door. On my Clubbie, I have it on my passenger door but it's missing it on the drivers side door. What has been the final verdict on this? I haven't spoken to the dealer yet and am planning on it, but mine seems inconsistant with everyone elses.

Honestly I haven't looked...well, I think I did take a quick look but tried to forget about it. I was too busy trying to open my club door.

in the uk it is the nearside ( lefthand) door rubber seal which is missing, my dealer at Blackburn fitted one as soon as i brought it to there attention but other people on the forum have either got it done like me or there are some who's dealer has refused saying they are not meant to be fitted.
i am going to the mini factory at oxford next week and it is one of the things i am going to be asking them about.

If you can, please ask them about the ongoing issue many of us are having with the Cold Start issue. I heard this for the first time yesterday and it scared the heck out of me. Thought I had a diesel engine. Looks like A LOT of people are having this problem.

No major issues here. The driver's side side mirror doesn't seem to rotate up (the mirror itself not the housing) as much as the passenger's, however that might be an optical illusion because the driver's side mirror is closer to the driver (duh).

I'm going to have to get seat belt standoffs because having to dislocate my arm to reach the seat belt is getting annoying.

I picked it up 2 weeks ago and only have ~ 500 miles on it. So far no major issues *crosses fingers*

Re the seat belt, there's a small seat belt "retainer" - not sure of the name - that needs to be slid up towards the buckle...then you won't have to do that dislocation move. Seriously, it slides up and down and with mine it was way back...and I had to twist around and grab it all the time until someone else pointed this little tool to me.

A better explanation might be
Quote:
...there is a guide on the seatbelt that will force the clip to rest over your shoulder near the point where the seatbelt comes out of the b-pillar.
