Offline | Thanks to everyone for the advice under the earlier post about which car to pick. This afternoon heart has given head a serious kicking (taking wallet out in a horrible piece of colateral damage). Come sometime in March will be the proud and poor owner of:- Clubman S, dark silver, black roof, chilli pack, heated seats, pdc, heated mirrors + jets, piano black trim. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Really enjoyed the cooper, had it on the road for an hour and a half, motorway, b-roads, town etc.. Great engine, really smooth and picks up nicely when you work the gears hard, great in town -- the one i tested had the sport button and was on 17in rims, and it felt great. But in the end the only thing that i really missed was the bottom end power, cooper acclerates nicely but found once you're up to speed, it just takes that little bit of time to drop down a cog if you want to try to find more in the engine -- and if you hit the pedal to the floor with revs under about 4,000 there's just nothing more there. To be honest it's probably the perfect car for me given my commute to work in London, but after having two S's in a row, i just knew id miss the performance given that it hasnt been too crippling to spend the extra cash. Realised i was just trying to add toys to cooper to make up for the fact that i couldnt "drive" the car as much. |

Offline | Congratulations! ![]() It sounds a great spec there's not a lot missing ![]() The only thing you haven't mentioned is a multi-function steering wheel, I wouldn't like to live without it now, especially for the cruise control, and luckily it was on the launch spec Clubman we bought ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Spot on I have to agree it comes down to cost with me and after two very basic S's its nice to have a few comforts and better economy. I have only been caught out by the lack of oomph once but I thought sport was on and it wasnt ![]() |
