Can someone provide me with VIN digits 4-7 for your MINI Cooper Clubman or MINI Cooper S Clubman?

Ron, I have a Clubman on order but haven't gotten the VIN yet, only the production number. I'll PM the VIN to you as soon as I get it.

It's a Cooper Clubman, not a Cooper S.

Why do you need the Vin number ? I have a Clubman S. Not sure about giving out the number though.

Sue reply to MINIAC via PM if you feel more comfortable. But rest assured he is one of the administrators of MINI2 and is only asking for a partial VIN. Wise to be wary though

I dont' want the whole VIN ... just digits 4 through 7

Digits 4 through 7 indicate the model and whether it's left or right hand drive.

It's probably on your vehicle registration form and stamped or tagged several places on your MINI. On my 1st Gen MCS it's stamped on the strut tower in the engine bay and tagged at the base of the windshield on the driver (your passenger) side.

The VIN is 17 digits starting with WMW.

ML33 = MINI Cooper Clubman (USA)

MM31 = MINI Cooper S Clubman (LHD)

The code to the VIN numbers as listed under FAQ is very informative, but now a few years out of date. Any chance of an update? I would like to trace the production sequence for my Clubman just registered March 1st. Can anyone help?

I notice it starts WML ML 32 so that's a RHD Cooper Clubman.

FAQ has been updated for all 2nd Gen models.

It's in the All Generations section under General MINI FAQs and Advice.

You could also find it by doing a Search FAQ Titles Only for "vin"

A couple of other FAQs which have 1st and 2nd Gen information combined:

The first one I can split so there's something under the 2nd Generation FAQs. The second one will be a little tougher to split because colors spanned generations.

Well you get the award for keeping all this info up-to-date. It's only when you really need to find something in particular that you realize how fortunate you are that this board still has some people who are continuing the good organizational work based on facts. Many thanks!

Now, if I could only find my Vin # but I think it may be too early yet. I do have a production number though. I am amazed at myself for obsessing about all this, yet again.

With the discusion here on VIN numbers, I just thought that I would pass on a story of what happened to me just last week.

I was at my dealership looking at the new Clubman and I wanted a quote for a trade-in price on my 2002 Cooper. The salesman had to go out to the car to write down the VIN and the milage. He comes back and enters in the VIN and then says that he wrote the VIN down wrong because he was missing a digit. So I look at the VIN number and say, "Oh, you are missing the 5, it should end in 358".

This goes back to when the car first coming out in 2002 and you could track your car with the last 7 digits of the VIN. While I cannot really remember the digits now, my wife thought it was strange that I could remember the VIN. Well a partial VIN.
