labor costs

I want to get some viper stripes added to my car - the dealer is quoting me $499. The website for accessories says $125 + installation. That equals an install fee of $374 for maybe a 2 hour job (being generous). That equates to $187 per hour. That equates to $359,000 a year giving a 4 week vacation. Does that seem a bit too much?
No price gouging there...

Welcome to MINI2, thulewx - I've seen your posts on NAM.

I have nothing to offer regarding that pricing, except to agree that it sounds steep but, if you don't get any feedback here, you might want to research and then post on this forum http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-exterior/.

Good luck and show us your stripes once they're on.

Fitting Viper stripes takes longer than 2 hours to be honest. More like 4 if you want a decent job doing.

United-Kingdom

I was quoted £250 by a MINI dealer for the same stripes, that's equivalent to $500, so you have the same profiteering in the USA it seems.
