| Sergeant Pepper | First crash..courtesy clubman sloshing???? Had my inaugural crash last sunday morning in my ONE, a combination of snowy conditions and the ridiculous ambitions of a lady in a transit van ended up with myself in a full lock slide into the side of a transit van. Thankfully everyone was ok, including the many unseatbelted kids in the transit van. My car's pretty trashed though, i was left in the middle of a roundabout unable to drive, or indeed push the car when in neutral. My front left wheel is jammed against the wheel arch and it also now sports a ridiculous camber. However, the main reason for posting this thread was to ask a question regarding the R57 clubman. I had a brand spanking new (10 miles on the odometer!!!) clubman cooper delivered this morning.. I've never really properly looked at the clubman, but gosh is it ugly. The one i'm lending is in black, with silver trim on the rear doors..looks like a cut and shut..especially on the right hand side..seriously...what is going on with that 'club door'...things with a 'club' prefix have never had positive connotations..club foot for example...they never will by the looks of things...club man. Looks aside, the car is lovely lovely lovely to drive, very sharp, suspension is firm but not jerky. Acceleration is pretty astonishing for a 1.6 litre!! I have noticed however a strange sound under hard acceleration, kind of a sloshing on the passenger side, very strange..has anyone else experienced this? Upon reading the manual this afternoon i reminded myself that the car clutch brakes tyres etc need to be ran in, i'm a tad suspicious that my heavy right (club) foot has played a role in initiating this sloshing noise. :S help. | MINI2 Regular | oh dear.... had a similat experiance a few weeks ago... some nonce in a volvo 4x4 cut accross me and squished the offside corner of my car, nothing major thankfully... have been lent a clubfoot cooper auto... i have also been running it in the 'renta car' way for the garage... nearly 600 miles so far and may now have it another few days as when i collected my car last night i noticed lots of overspray on the front grill and plastic arches!! oh.. and the new viper stripes fitted to the bonnet were much wider than the ones fitted to the roof!!! looked right daft... hope they mend your mini soon! and make sure it is perfect when you get it back! |

Offline | I never drive any rentals - let alone a loaner from my MINI dealer - any differently than I drive my own car. I guess the way some treat them is why it's never a great idea to buy a leased car, or a rental/loaner.![]() First love: MC CVT Indi Blue/White '04 Past MINI: MC CVT PW/Black '06 Present MINI: MCa Clubman BRG/BLK '08 |

Offline | Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I have both R56 Hatch and Clubman and I can see beauty in both concepts as well as extra space and extra doors in the Club version![]() Too many freaks not enough circuses Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Offline | Indeed! I had a PW/B Clubman for about week while mine was in. I sort of wish I had waited a bit, and would of had one of those instead of the hatch. The Pace wheels look fantastic, would love a set for my R56. ![]() http://www.supermega.co.uk MINI Cooper R50 CR/W - Sept 06 - Oct 07 MINI Cooper R56 PW/B - Oct 07 - .... |

Offline | Now the thing about the Marmite statement is, I don't really like Marmite it freaks me out a bit when its in the pot.... but I am partial to a Marmite and Cheese toasted Ciabatta from Starbucks. |

Offline | No thats the Mint Sauce face ![]() To be honest I have no idea what they do here, I don't even like Coffee. I only go in there with the missus she gets the coffee and I get a toasty. I even have to sneak a diet pepsi in there or I am stuck with water ![]() |

Offline | What's a "toasty"...I think that's what the Marmite was on...I'd thought it was a hot drink they were serving. Maybe I'm confusing Marmite with Bovril? First love: MC CVT Indi Blue/White '04 Past MINI: MC CVT PW/Black '06 Present MINI: MCa Clubman BRG/BLK '08 |

Offline | Anything that includes a filling between two slices of bread then toasted as opposed to toasting two slices of bread and whacking in a filling after. Although Starbucks would frown upon such lowly terms they prefer Breakfast Panini ![]() Food - Hot Panini |
