The seats are punch carbon leather sports seats. In previous MINIs, I've has space cloth sports seats, checkmate half leather sport seats, and leather regular seats. This is the first leather sports seats, and IMO the seats are better in the R55/R56 than in the previous generation.

That was not a complaint about the dealer. Most tire shops overinflate tires to seal the beads, and the tires really don't seat untll it is driven. The VDCs really don't want low tires while the cars are in delivery.

The little 15" wheels and tires are growing on me, and they sure are light compared to the wider tires I am used to.

Got the tow hitch installed, and took R-2 for a trip around the block behind the FJ this evening. When people gawked, I just yelled, "Spare".

Spiney, do you have any old photos of your original '72? If so, it would be great to see one.

Fuzzy did the first mod on the clubbie today: it's now rigged for flat towing behind the RV:

Ahhhhh - color coordinated!

To continue to show my ignorance - why is the Clubman an R-2? I'm counting on you two to keep me up-to-date.

What color is the RV?

Have you two considered writing something for publication regarding your MINI adventures?

BB, this is the publication of our MINI adventure.

Here's some pictures of our RV, it's named the Tardis:

Our RV is the MINI of the RV world. It's only 8ft wide and 23 ft long, and gets an average of 18mpg of diesel. We hear from other RVers who can't afford to drive their motorhome now that fuel prices went up so much, and we're still cruising down the road.

Fuzzy said R-2 because he was confused. The RV is named the Tardis because it's bigger on the inside than the outside, and who (what) follows along behind the Tardis? K-9

I was not confused. R-2, K-9, R-1 D-1, they are all small robots.

OTRA, you are quite correct in the analysis of removing the rear seats from K-9. It also removes 40 lbs of weight which can then be replaced with cargo, without going over our maximum towed weight. 40 lbs of coffee beans is a lot! There is also no reason to subject those nice leather seats to boxes of cooking supplies.

I just tire of NAM inane posters. The thread was not me asking permission or approval to remove my rear seats, just an inquiry into the availability of a cover. I swear, if you started a thread "The sun will rise tomorrow", 30 people would post to disagree with you.

If you look closely, you can see that the Clubbie has FJ doors!

I'll tell you - you two are certainly good for my little grey cells! The Tardis as in Dr. Who, me thinks. Though I used to watch Dr. Who, I'm afraid I'd forgotten his time machine's/call box's name.

Never a dull moment - I only wish we were neighbors.

I think your Tardis could be our retirement home. Always thought it would be fun to see if I could stand living in such close quarters with my husband. Perhaps a short vacation for starters.

As for the NAM insanity - i've only recently frequented it due to my impending delivery...it's sort of fun to have some enthusiasm from others going through it. I hadn't noticed the odd behavior in that particular thread but there's definitely a different flavor over there...of couse we are prejudiced towards MINI2.

As for K-9, I was thinking you might be into training guard dogs now!

By the way, I'll be taking notes when you hit the roof rack install.
