Offline | Clubman S Rear door reflectors With the back doors open in the Clubman there is a circle of plastic at the bottom part of the doors. They are about 70mm in diameter. On some pics on the web I have seen reflectors but most of them, including mine, are without. To my mind it makes sense to have an illuminated red light/reflector fitted to both doors for when the doors are open as the tail lights, although being visible, are set back the width of the door of course. Does anyone know of a modification/kit for this? What is the circle of plastic for? I do not want to dig it out if I am not going to be able to get it to go back in again. I guess if it is to be illuminated, then the power is going to be taken from the boot light rather than the courtesy light underneath the door. If I am right the courtesy light turns off after a while, along with the courtesy lights inside the car. The boot light, I presume stays on until the doors are finally closed. I have not had any response from the dealer on this query nor can I find even a reflector at Halfords and the like. Any advice would be appreciated. |

Offline | The barn doors of my Clubman (not S) came with reflectors in the spot you describe. They are not wired to illuminate; they just reflect. Perhaps it is a U.S. spec, but regardless there should be a part number that MINI could give you. I wouldn't dig out the blank circle until you have reflectors in hand. |

Offline | Barn Door Reflectors It looks like that is a US spec, can anyone confirm that? It's a great idea though, reflectors would give extra protection if parked at night with the doors open. They would not be internally illuminated, just reflective. They used to be standard fitting on British cars back in the 60s. I still have two 1960s vehicles in my collection, both 1968 and bought new by me, a Reliant Rebel and a Bedford Debonair, both are fitted with reflectors, and even earlier than that I remember buying some as an extra for (I think) a Standard Super Ten. Anyone know where you can still buy them? Or have a MINI part number? That reminds me, you used to be able to buy Parts Manuals for any car, is there one for the MINI? Presumably on CD Rom nowadays rather than an actual book. |

Offline | Thank you. That explains where or how I might have seen a piccy with the reflectors on the doors. I shall have to do some ferreting at this side of the pond for the item code. I am now putting out feelers for the part number for the JCW spoiler and to see if it can be bought on its own and fitted to the clubman without to much trouble. Unlikely I guess but I live in hope of getting back from a journey without having to wash down the back end from all the dust or dirt that has been thown up by the car and am wondering whether the spoiler might help change the airflow. Have just got back in from a run in the spring sunshine on nice dry and bendy roads and have enjoyed every minute of it. It will take a while for the smile to leave my face. It is just so much fun. |

| ukmini***** | I had one of the plastic covers missing when i got our Clubman. Nothing behind it apart from seeing onto the metal work of the door. Fitting the reflectors will be easy if you buy them. I am about to order the side marker lights for the front bumper, these are US spec also. The olg GP was hte only UK spec mini to include side markers, although ther were not powered!? I fitted tehm powered to my S Checkmate. I am also looking to light up the red reflectors to use as rear side markerd which are located under the rear light clusters. When i have done it all, ill post all the parts etc required. |
