Offline | My Clubman is born ... with beige leather Hi all, Well my Clubman has arrived after weeks of painfully going through the options list, struggling over the colour combo. Ordering I originally went in to the dealership to try out the small diesel as my city run around and after speccing it up with Mini Hifi, Leather, sunroof, bluetooth kit, comfort access and just about everything except PDC and GPS the price was only about 3000CHF (£1500) less than a Cooper S. I took the Cooper S out for a spin and came back with a huge grin. 7 weeks of impatiently waiting like I was going to give birth to the car myself I got the call that it had arrived a few days early. Arrival Took it straight away and am loving it. It's a Feb/March 2008 build and I can confirm that non the regular problems mentioned on this site have occured. However on delivery the horn did not function and the garage told me it was due to a short circuit, I'm booked in on Monday for a replacement. Experience Taking it easy for the first 2000km but can already feel the torque in 2nd/3rd gear at 2000rpm. - Admittedly the ride is on the hard side and I would love to get rid of the run flats but I know that may cause problems with the insurance and I;m not sure it it's good for the flat tyre sensor either. - The Hifi Mini is great but i expected a little more bass or even a small sub-woofer installed for the price. - The Comfort access is excellent - The heated seats are a marvel. - The factory tinted windows could be a little darker as sometimes I wonder if they're tinted or not. - The sunroof and beige leather adds loads of light and the feeling of much larger car. - Boot space is very good, it swallows £250 of food shopping with ease. - The engine is naturally a little rattly as it gets warmer but its like a tappet noise although from above the tappets. I reckon its the characteristics of the engine although its abut embarassing ticking over with a passenger and the CD off as you hear it reasonably clearly, Hope this little review helps any prospective buyers. If any other owners have comments on my experiences I would love to hear about them. Cheers and thanks for listening (or should i say reading) |

Offline | They aren't talking to each other... This is a strange foto, my Mini next to the Phaeton (my long distance car) that I am now saving up to buy. You;d think they weren't talking to each other. ![]() |

Offline | OOh! The beige interior is lovely. Beige is just such the wrong word really as it makes it seem dull (which your car isn't). MINI should come up with a better word/description for the colour. I hope you have as much fun in your Clubman as I do with mine! |

Offline | Yes you're right about the colour, I thought the marketing departement would come up with something more funky than Tuscan beige. The online mini.com generated fotos didn't really reassure me either. I thought long and hard about the blue/beige combo and thought about switching to black lounge but after seeing a blue/beige audi on the roads despite the colours not being exact i thought it could work and for me it's done the trick. I'm looking for fotos of your Clubman...... ;-) |

Offline | Thanks aussie. Out in Switzerland the Mini is the slowest depreciating car on teh amrket and Phaeton amongst the fastest depreciating cars but after having tried both I think they're both candidates for the best car in their respective categories. |
