DIY Clubber gets Mods

A few mods to report on for the Clubber.

This all started with a trip to Lohen to have the Miltek catback (purchased on the group buy) fitted.

What I ended up with, thanks to Andrey and the development guys at Miltek, was a complete SS exhaust sytem.
The photos do not do it justice but this is a very substantial and well made product that looks great and sounds even better.

The car is also much quicker in acceleration and yet on my trip home (mix of Mway, A and Welsh B roads) the obc reports 42.7mpg @ 57.4mph for the 159 miles travelled.

The second item on my list was the change of the front discs for the BMW works items + Goodrich lines and dot5.1 fluid.
Cosmetic at the moment BUT Mintex are releasing their new pads this Friday which will (Lohen have tested them on their car) make quite a difference.

Finally it has been lowered courtesy of a set of KW V2 coilovers - Currently it is about -36mm.
I am going to try it at this level and play with the damper settings for a while so this may change.
I am off on a track-day on June 9th so this will give me a chance to try it all out, I will let you know how it goes.

My thanks go to Lohen where you can of course discuss and/or order all of the above items.
Great guys who seem to care -- worth the trip, you will not be dissapointed.

Nice one. Got the KW coilovers on mine too, only not quite so low at the front, I've got the JCW front bumper, and I'm worried I'll lose it on a speed bump if I go any lower

Not to many speed bumps round here but I will see how it goes.
From a handling point of view it seems to be about right but I will put that to the test at a track day next Monday.
I guess if need be I can always remove the skirt beneath the front bumper to gain some clearance.

Settings......
Original
N/s O/s
R 663 658 Apparently MINI allow a bias for the driver ????
F 660 650

Now
R 630 = -28
F 610 = -40 Using the lowest factory setting as the norm

I will let you know how it goes - maybe I will raise it 10 on the front

Regards

Unfortunately I did not get a dyno before the exhaust was fitted.
I do intend getting it done in the near future but I will have to use the 'advertised' 175bhp as a benchmark although this is generally seen to be a tad lower than the actual output.
I believe the Miltek Catback is worth an extra 10/15bhp -- what difference a full exhaust makes, I have no idea.
Be nice to see circa 195bhp

Always difficult to know wether it is the imagination but I do genuinely feel that the accelleration is noticeable quicker and that the engine revs more freely.

I will post the dyno results when I get them.

Regards

Is the Milltek just a cat back or is it turbo back? What does it sound like?
