Mini Clubman Defect?

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum.

We purchased 2 weeks ago a new clubman diesel and have had the following problem.

On the rear boot doors the rubber seal on the bottom of the windows has just peeled away.

We reported this fault to our local dealership and apparently they are on back order.

I assume this must be a common problem?

Even the Clubman on display in the dealership had the same problem!

This is now our second revisit to the dealership within 2 week as the first problem was we had the door adjar warning alarm sounding?

The only way to stop the alarm was to brutally shut the rear passenger door. The fault turned out to be the top door keep was so loose you could wiggle it about.

Our local dealership fixed this when we just dropped in to explain our problem - so first class aftersales service.

Hope these are just teething problems.

I had this problem soon after picking up my clubman. I had to have both of my seals replaced, as they both peeled back.

That is crazy, mice nesting in there, cheeky things!

I've had a problem with the chrome (Or whatever metal it actually is) pitting with rust at the bottom of the rear windows on my Clubby. Might mention it when I take it for a service on Friday

Thought is was plastic trim its not just tar spots is it? Although heard of pitting before.

My boss had rats in his engine bay on an Audi S4 the car was parked for a while he switched on and the displays went haywire the rats had eaten through allsorts.

Here the real menace is pine martens - they chew the hoses to get high on the fluids. A friend had his Chrysler Voyager catch fire and self destruct due to the leaking fuel - and yes, that's definitely not a warranty claim!

Not here much any more

Not seen seal problem, but will check tomorrow,
Did have problem with the rear doors on the first weekend I had the car though. They wouldn't open!! and we had frozen food in the back!!
A call to the dealer & a saleman told me to hold my finger on the boot release on the key fob. Since had new micro switch fitted.
