Almost Bought a Clubman! But.....

Well, we got quite close to actually buying a Clubman yesterday! Been thinking about it for some time (so we would be a 2-MINI family). But ultimately the problem is down to choice of colour! We've had blue cars for a number of years now, so we (i.e. she who must be obeyed) would like a nice metallic red this time round - and feels that the red/black roof combination looks very good on the Clubby.

However, this means the only option is Nightfire Red. Not only does the other half feel it's too dark, but the dealer said it was the least poular colour, and he insists this would impact resale/trade values later

So, here we are, ready to order, money in the bank, and stumped by the colour option!

Are we alone in this dilemma?

Ian

How about a nice Chili red? Save money on the metallic front, it's pretty popular and personally, I think that combined with black roof and C pillars in a Clubman, it looks awesome!

Clubman colour

I agree chilli red is a lovely colour on the clubman with black but I saw a red silver combination the other day and that looks good.I have a diesel auto and it is my approx, 60th new car.Apart from a bmw 5 series I think its the best car I have had especially the auto box.It reurns over 50 including rural roads and some motorway driving. Its 100% reliable with only an interior light failure and a broken armrest which was my fault. Its coming up 12000 miles and due for an oil change.I also think the diesel is holding its value better than the S and cooper in the clubman range.

Just traded in my Nightfire Red/Silver Clubman D for a Lightning Blue Clubman S

The colour did'nt seem to affect trade in value ! The colour looks so much better on a sunny day and I found its a colour that looks good clean. Lots of good comments from freinds who liked it.

Heres a photo might make your mind up

Thanks all! Chili Red is probably the most likely choice, if we do go ahead. Or maybe Lightning Blue (though it's said this colour will be discontinued soon to make way for Horizon Blue). But it still remains to be seen whether the dealer is that interested in a special deal for someone buying 2 MINIs at the same time......

Problem is, we do fancy a red like this MiTo

Its funny as I hated Pepper White, but now I love it and have got (well almost) a JCW in that very colur.

I think colurs will always follow a trend, at the min it seems white cars in, not sure if pepper white falls into the white section (if you know what i mean) but we love it!!

Safe bet..... Chilli Red or Silver

Mate's just bought a Hot Chocolate Clubbie which is stunning. I pick my Dark Silver one up this week, which is better still. Whilst shopping for both we came across a Laser Blue & Black one which was awesome, shame the spec wasn't up to scratch. I like nightfire red by the way. But if it's S you're going for then look into Laser Blue instead of Lightening Blue, just a bit different.
