Could you sleep in the back of a clubman?

As per the title?
Would it work?

I think you'd need a mattress in there, but wih the seats folded flat and the front seats hinged forwards against the dash - would that be near 6 foot?

It has to be better than a tent?

You know I always thought about that. Forget buying an old V-Dub camper, and get the bigger MINI.

After all the old (tiny) VW Polo estate had sufficient space for a rather tall person to sleep!

You will be fine in the Clubby, and comfy to "boot"

Anyone tried this yet?
It came up in conversation again Re. camping at Le Mans - rather pull my eyelashes out than sleep in a tent.
Clubby has to be better.....

Maybe i'll put the seats down this weekend and try for a nap....

I guess it would depend on exactly how flat you can get the "floor", as to whether or not it would actually be comfortable to sleep in.

As I see it, you'd have to remove all of the headrests, move the front seats right forward, then fold the back seats as flat as possible. Then you'd need to push the front seats as far back as they'd go, before folding them down too... which I reckon would leave it fairly flat?

Chuck in an air bed (would a regular double fit with a bit of squashing?) and I reckon you'd be fairly comfy! As you originally said, it has to be better than sleeping in a tent whichever way you look at it.

I'd rather wake up with a bad back in a MINI than in a tent any day.
