I cant get one of my split doors to open

I cant get one of my split doors to open. I have a clubman sport 2008. I press the rear door button to open and one door opens. I squeeze the handle to open the other and nothing happens. What can I do?

Had the same on my 07 Cooper S Clubman. took it to the dealer and they replaced the rear lock mechanism inside the door. Something had become disconnected within the mechanism.
