Cooper S Clubman

Hello All

Coming back to MINI ownership after a few years out having owned a VW Scirocco. Currently looking to order a Chili Red Cooper S Clubman with Chili and Media pack and just wanted to get opinions! Is there anything I should definately go for or avoid? What is the H&K Hi-Fi like?

As stated above. The standard Sound System sucks - generally agreed- so you must get HK. I wouldn't buy a Mini without it and have done side by side comparisons. As for the rest....Great car, you'll love it!

So glad I added the HK system today after debating all night whether to or not. Asked my dealer to demo it again and after a few minutes I had no doubt whatsoever......besides, the speakers look nicer too!!

H/K is a definite "must have" for me, as is MFSW and anthracite roof lining.

I've added Sports suspension on my Mini SD Clubman, might be worth testing 2 cars; 1 with & 1 without. i think it makes a difference.

What I cant understand with Clubmans is why do they only do the rear side door opening out into the road rather than onto the pavement? couldnt be bothered to change it over for the UK market, or NZ, or OZ or Japan or India
Quite a big oversight I would have thought?
It put me off anyway.

The rear door position is down to cost. The fuel tank would have to be moved for right hand drive cars.

how do i know if my new buy has this fitted its a Mini Loved car and said its got that as a option??

+1 on the HK stereo! Well worth the money and adds value to the car as its now back to being branded as HK.
I couldn't live without heated seats and a heated front screen (but that's a big debate among owners!)

I also use the auto lights and auto diming rear view mirror - all in the Vis pack I think.

I also selected the Visual Boost Display (AKA Telly) and the rear parking sensors. This gives you the parking radar on the big display. It also allows full iphone integration with playlist selection and shows your album art on the 5" screen (very cool feature).

I also use bluetooth a lot but think this is standard now?
As is DAB.

Oh one last one, centre armrest! I tried to stop using it (folded it away) to see if I could - I couldn't!

Panoramic roof is nice but a bit pricey perhaps?

Mini connected (iphone app) is toot - IMHO! used it a couple of times but no more as its a pain to set up each time you want to use it.

Is it really on the wrong side? As the driver, i'm glad its on my side. It means I have my own door to access the rear seats for letting in/out passengers and putting things on the back seats. If the door was on the kerb side for a RHD car, I would have to walk around to let the passenger out of the back. There is no way they could open the door themselves.

So I say its on the right side!
And i've owned one for nearly 2 years so...

I was wondering about that! With both limited rearward vis and backup lighting, my main concern is reverse at night and avoiding obstacles (dark unlit vehicles in the parking lot, pets, kids, shopping carts, etc.)

Here's the thing - nothing on the MINI site mentions that the Rear Park Sensor integrates with MINI Connected to provide a radar-like visual display (or maybe I missed it - wouldn't be the first time!). I am in the US market if that makes a difference.

Can anyone verify that adding Rear Park Sensors on a (US) MINI Connected-equipped Clubman will indeed show the radar-like display?
