Thinking about a clubman

My sister just bought a 2010 with 60k miles. Hers is a clubman s and I've fallen in love.

Now I'm in the market to sell my current SUV and am looking for a clubby. I am curious what the best year for these has been? I'm looking for less than $20k and less than 70k miles preferably. I've been looking around 2008-2011.

Are these reliable in your experiences? Are these years prone to any issues? Anything else I should know before moving forward?

Thanks a ton!

I've got a 2009 with the PSA diesel. At 125,000k. Waterpump had to be changed 6 months after I bought the car. Have replaced a slipping clutch.

Aside from that it's been bulletproof. Fuel consumption has been as advertised. Starts first time, every time even down to -15įC.

Think the petrol (i.e. "S") versions are somewhat less reliable (timing chain tensioners, carbon build-up, etc...) but can't really speak from personal experience.

Don't dismiss the diesel variant, it'll beat BMWs and VW's starting out no problem. Pulls like a train.
