Offline | For all of those who are upset by spy shots of test cars that look ugly, how about the three thumnails at the bottom of this post? They are pretty ugly as well. What are they? Test mules of our MINIs caught being tested in 2000 and look at how nice they turned out to be.... Tigger. ![]() Unintimated and I'm back!! ![]() For sunshine, fun and Cornish Pasties: New MINI Kernow Cornish Oggy Run 2009! |

| Trained Monkey | And there's far worse examples too. I'm looking forward to the day we hvae a MINI range. So far only the new Clubman, Convertible and Hatch seem to be set in stone, but that's one more body type than now. What the long term future holds, who knows?! ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

| Living in Mini Wasteland | Why are people constantly trying to call the new MINI estate a clubman. Do they not know what a clubman was. The original mini (classic) clubman came in an estate version, but it also came out in a sedan version as well. Does the following official BMC publication picture look like an estate. ![]() Picture URL.....http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/press/clubman_2.jpg Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman. |

Offline | Absolutely! It could be called a Countryman (Austin) or a Traveller (Morris) Whatever happens, please don't let them call it a Tourer (BMW). Tigger. ![]() Unintimated and I'm back!! ![]() For sunshine, fun and Cornish Pasties: New MINI Kernow Cornish Oggy Run 2009! |

Offline | Either Clubman and/or long wheelbase versions (Traveler, Countryman, Estate, Van) could very well have been a Europe-only thing. Do take note that these are different things [Erm, right, what Mini1380 said then ], although there is such a thing as the Clubman Estate, there were also "normal" saloons with the Clubman frontend. And the Traveler, Countryman and Van had a regular Mini frontend. (Which is why I think Clubman is a bad name for an Estate version of the new Mini, they should take Traveler, I reckon). |

Offline | i'm not actually sure that this is as bad as people think...i think the camoflaguing is doing some tricks here. The front looks longer, but you can pick out that the front has had a piece added on...underneath you can make out the existing headlights that point to a nose very similar in length to the existing model. The rear also has had the same treatment, there are elements to suggest that the back end is similar in overhang to the existing models. It looks to me like the roof & rear end is almost one piece thats been bolted on over the existing one. Looking at the rear arches i'd say that the wheelbase looks perhaps 6 inches longer than the existing model. With that in mind, i think this may do quite well...i can see this being popular with people that like the mini but cant get one because they do a lot of activities that mean humping gear around, like cycling, wind/surfing, fishing etc, or just carrying a dog around. Some nicely integrated roof rails wouldn't go a miss on this either (one thing that seems a bit of an afterthought approach on the existing model). This to me looks much more plausable and approachable than the 4x4 concept at frankfurt. I think the concept projection has the rear doors perhaps right (you can almost make out a door line underneath the gaffer tape)...but i think they haven't got the athsetics right further back. We'll see ![]() |

Offline | Again apologies if elsewhere http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/motoring/mi...WM5 _topstory Is this a traveller version or will there be a hatch version. The back seems much too square - do we really want 'practical' minis? |
