Offline | Hehe, I just don't really get the point of a car like that. The original Mini was supposed to be small, affordable car for 4 people. The new Mini Coopers are supposed to be small, nimble sports cars. So now they have something that looks kinda like a Mini, but isn't very small, not going to be really nimble (with the longer wheel base, added weight, long bonnet)... And it doesn't look very pretty either. Odd, but if I was in the market for something that hauls more stuff, have more room for the passengers, and isn't very nimble, I would get a small wagon like a Mazda 3. Anyway, I just don't understand the point of this thing yet, but perhaps I will when it comes out ![]() |

Offline | Why not?? The original Mini Classic was available in Estate and sold very well. Ideal for those who love the mini shape but need a little bit more legroom and bootspace 1968 Mk1 Morris Cooper S 1310cc Downton Lake Green - White 1974 Leyland Mini 1098c Country Cream 2008 MINI Cooper S Chilli Pepper White - Black Roof |

Offline | Please get over the looks for now. These are spy shots, of a car that has been (quite obviously, if you've seen this kind of picture before) deliberatlety camouflaged so it doesn't show too clearly what the finished product will look like. |

Offline | They better not alter the wheelbase of the standard MINI or they will loose me as a customer. No increase of the wheelbase, no increase in the overall length!!!!! Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |

| You are number 6 | Let's not start another panic attack on the demise of the MINI This just looks like a variation on a theme, there is a demand for a longer wheel base version and if produced it would no doubt be an addition to the standard versions not a replacement. |

Offline | Good find indeed! The thing is this is a development car, like a lot of the shots posted around MINI2 over time. It tells us little about the finished product, but it's still good to see what they're up to. The Clubman isn't expected until late 2007 anyway, so they've plenty of time to smooth out the looks (and it clearly needs it!). If that was the finished design, it would be ripped to shreds by just about everyone I think, as it's looking very ugly. Like the "gun turret" headlights though! ![]() |

| Bring the noise | I'm looking forward to the arrival of the clubman ! The mini range consisted of many variants and MINI are exploring those to the full. Not too keen if there was to be a 5 door version as this would dilute the ethos, but times change........ THe other varaints which I have seen pics of look pretty exciting and show just how serious MINI are with what a great brand and product they have successfully re-introduced. Just think if MINI was part of VW ! |
