| Gūd daedheloth | Nice photos, but I can't really see the point in taking all the photos in a 45 degree angle in a frogs p.o.w. It seems like that is the standard way of taking pics of car. How about actually showing the car in the pics? In most i's so god damn far away that I can barely see it. I partially agree with the car looking a bit better and bigger from a low p.o.w., but not hanging on the wall. I want my car on the ground. Otherwise, I Love (!) the car, HB is such a beautiful color. Wish I had ordered mine 3 months later. |

| Gūd daedheloth | Obviously you don't know what you are talking about. Those pics being bad has nothing to do with me being a newbie to the forum. Actually they're not BAD, just average. Actually I do have an eye for photography, and I take ALOT of photos. Yes, I see that alot amateurphotographers tends to believe that taking pics from underneath the car is a good thing. bubblegoose: Feel free to explain the connection between these pics and me not having alot of posts. =) |

| . | okay then seen as how YOUR the expert where is the BEST ANGLE to take a photo from.. because a side profile/eye level shot is just plain old boring... the shots above are artist in the way they are taken.. focusing on there surrounds aswell as the car.. EMPTY SPACE NEEDS FILLING.... but it has to be something that wont get me banned ![]() ![]() |

| Gūd daedheloth | Jeez Louise, I never stated I was an expert. Feel free to take your photos however you like, ofcourse. I never proposed otherwise. I simply expressed my opinion, or is this forum no longer the proper channel for that? And for the record, I do agree that a side profile/eye level shot can be rather dull. And again, I would very much like someone to express closer what my amount of posts has to do with my ability to seperate bad photos from good ones. But then again, let us just bury this whole thingy? Doesnt seem to bring any good to the thread. |

Offline | Everyone has their own views, but a photoshoot-out would be a good way to settle this, and more pleasing on the eye than a web forum argument. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

![]() Nervous.. | Johns photos are quite artistic & so much so one has just won a recent photo competition. As you will see from various shots accross MINI2 that if you want particular shots of a vehicle you have a search function for personal galleries to look for particular things. Photos that are normally posted in threads like these are to show off the artistic flair of the MINI owner & the little beast in various angles & lighting situations that quite a few MINI owners have never thought of experimenting with. When I was new to the MINI2 community, all I knew were side profile & eye level shots which were, as John quite rightly put it.... boring!!! Thanks to guys like John ie. RedUn & Scooby212, I have learned to experiment with these things & as a result got a picture of my car in GoMINI magazine. I saw ur post as quite insulting to Johns work & i saw it as quite a "newbie" post because many users tend to put their point of view accross quite eloquently & In my opinion I dont think yours was. Sorry if I have offended you in any way, but thats just how I see it. Cheers, Dave ![]() |

![]() is Sabine Schmidt! | Right...... this thread was started by my boyfriend (johnmorgar1980) to encourage my mum as a new mini owner to understand photography and hopefully get her into mini2 like me..... But how can she be so confident when people have to be so negative!!!! Mini2 is a friendly place and I have met a lot of new friends on here from the UK and all over the world!!! even my future husband (hopefully)! I think offending people when you are new is not the best way of meeting friends... (just a bit of advice to you Preben) Shell ![]() |

| Gūd daedheloth | I simply expressed my opinion. I questioned the angle of some of the photos, and did not intend to offend anyone. As I saw the photos I came to think about something that I've thought about earlier: the obsession of taking photos from nearly under the car. Therefore I decided to adress it, hoping people had thick enough skin not to take it on a highly personal level. Oh was I wrong. However, I feel that I did not in any way specify any of the photos presented in this thread as lead examples. My facination went to the heavy rotated photos. I do realize that offending people is not the best way to make friends, and that was (as I wrote before) not my intention. I greatly appreciate the response I've got to my every question , and I try to help out others as far as my knowledge reaches. I feel that I have not said anything negatively (sp?) about threadstarters ability to take photos in general, other than that the selection of photos in this thread did not impress me. And yes, they are angle shots. I'm not even gonna defend them, as they are what they are: hasty. Feel free not to like them, as I suspect you won't. Peace out, Preben. |
