It's ok, this will only encourage more hairdressers to buy a mini, although I don't think they'll realease an S version, only a cooper.

A turbo diesel MINI would be interesting, though it would need a new gearbox (six speed Getrag?) to cope with all the torque!

I dont think that design could work - the boot in the mini is tiny, that hood would be pretty big - where would it go? They couldnt shrink the back seats so...

Funnily enough, I have just got off the phone to my dealer ref: convertible. We have an order in for one of the first MINI cabs (get it?) from our dealer but at the moment they know nothing of spec, prices, etc.

They are very speculative that I should see the car spring 2004, but as I work in the motor trade and know how these things work, I'm not holding my breath. Would be great to get it in time for the summer though.

I think the roof will be a hard top similar to the SLK, SL and 206CC but as opposed to folding horizontaly it will be stowed vertically. That would answer the where the roof goes question...

I don;t think they'll make a Cooper S cabrio, probably will be a single model, wouldn;t be surprised if it was based on the One as to keep the insurance down and attract all those young drivers gagging to get themselves in a cabrio...

Sorry peps but you woun't have my order... I'm in the que for the M1 or possibly the Z4 3.0 SMG!!!! jealous or what!!!
