Convertible around tree sap

Hi all- I've had my Cooper Convertible for less than 3 months and I am moving to an apartment with lots of trees covering the parking lot. I'm afraid to get the sap on the fabric. Any ideas on how to get it out if it happens? I'm looking into buying a car cover, but MINI wants $200 for theirs. I'm a little pinched for cash, so I'm looking for other options. Any ideas?

But then it's not on the fabric, so mission accomplished!!!

Could always sneak out one night with a chanisaw, and turn the offending trees into logs. You got plenty of trees in New Hampshire, so no-one would notice a few missing, would they?

It won't be a snug fit, but you can get a car cover from Costco for around $40. Add some bungees to improve the fit and it should work.

I was going to go with the car cover thing as well - the MINI one may be too expensive but this Costco one seems like a good idea.

Also - it will help keep your car cleaner for longer too.

Australia Convertible around tree sap

Definitely go for a cover. There's nothing worse than tree sap for making your paint look second hand.

Ideally you should be parking in your garage, and dispose of all the cr@p thats taken your garage over.

Ther are fabric protectants & shampoos especially for convertibles...in the US you can get Raggtopp Cleaner and Raggtopp Protectant (google them)

I wouldn't worry about tree sap on the roof, you'll be having a new one fitted every 6 months if its anything like my convertible

Its only a forum you know!

Ideally I would park it in the garage, but the complex doesn't have one. I'll look into the one at Costco. thanks for the advice
