Bye Bye MCSC :-(

OK....So first of all it wasn't actually mine ......

....But after a year of my parents owning this top car it had only done 4500miles of which I had probably stuck 3000 on it

The car was an absolute joy to drive, the great sound of the first generation S is only enhanced in a convert which allows you to hear the burbles are pops from the exhaust even more! If your thinking of getting one go for it!

I did think it was a bit thirsty on fuel, but spose the extra weight being a convert doesn't help

Id love to own a convert one day, and can see why some people once owning one won't go back to a hardtop!

Anyone who was on Matt18's Three Shires Run last year might remember this car breaking down just at the start Still playing catch up once the EML issue magically fixed itself was great fun

Economy is terrible for a car of that size, I do think it's worth it to hear that supercharger though!

If I came into quite a lot of money I'd have both, until then I'll continue running my crappy Vectra for work.

What a shame it's had to go. I noticed another one go last week too. There was a 55 plate red MCSc parked at Cheney School until a week or so back, which seems to have now vanished! Howver it has been replaced by a 56 plate Pepper white MCc. Maybe the fuel economy (and insurance costs) got to them. I keep meaning to go over and ask them when I see them parking!

I'm going round the factory tonight for a up close look at the R56s... I can't wait to see the convertible option in a couple of years time!

Of course it's worse because it begs to be driven... I'll have to put up my mileage estimate to the insurance company soon!

Also the winter hasn't really bitten yet. Been away for a couple of weekends to the south coast in the last three weeks and managed to have the top down all the way on both journeys! The bum wamers do make it a year round car!

Hopefully you'll be able to sample the joys of a convertible again soon!

That's true, the winter's been great so far for topless driving

Just this lunchtime I filled up with fuel and the girl in the petrol station said how lovely my car was and how it was nice to see the roof down, as so many convertible drivers have the roof up when the sun's shining
