Offline | It's not that cold... I lowered the roof on the car this morning to take the baby-seat out. As I was running late I just jumped in and set of thinking I'd raise the roof at the first set of lights I came to. In the end I was enjoying it so much I left the roof down all the way to work. Must admit I raised the windows as I was splashing through some pretty big puddles. Soon be summer! ![]() "If everything is under control, you are going too slow." - Mario Andretti |

Offline | This winters been pretty crappy [although good for those reservoirs] and most of the time my MINI has mothballed in the garage! But when those rainclouds haven't been visible we've managed a few good long runs topless but am really looking forward to some blue skys and temps in double digits again! Also it not needing cleaning after just about every journey! ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I have to say Gilles, that my wife had a convertible until recently and whenever i drove it, unless raining, I always used to put the roof down, even in bitterly cold conditions. Modern cars keep you warm in the front seats. To be honest whenver I can I have my window open on my Cooper S. I love to hear the rasp of the exhaust and the huge gulps of air the induction kit takes when I am whizzing around. Yes, thank good summer is close ![]() ![]() |

| Trained Monkey | 40+ MPH and you stay dry in all but heavy rain (mostly) anyway. That's been my experience of convertible MINIs. That said, they were not my cars, I might not risk it so my if it was my upholstery I was gambling with! There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | We always drive with the roof down if we can. Christmas eve we drove to a local pub for dinner in the evening, 2 kids in the back holding a rope light in the air and all of us singing christmas carols. We got cheers as we arrived in the car park Got to love it. |

Offline | Convertibles have always sold far better in Northern Europe [than Southern Europe], I think it's because we like to make more of the sun when we get some! ![]() Plus I think this is the first wet winter in Southern UK for about few years! Theres areas round here that have had less rainfall than Lisbon or Rome. ![]() Having said that I might take the car out right now - it must be at least 11 degrees and I can hopefully dodge a shower or two! ![]() Last edited by fl0r15t : Feb 25th, 2007 at 05:10 PM. |

Offline | Yep, this winter has been pretty miserable Nice today though, had the roof down and took the scenic route to work this morning - great fun despite some funny looks ![]() Think I'll have my official "summer's here" switchover weekend soon: 1. Remove de-icer, scraper and blanket from boot 2. Switch woolly hat+gloves in the glove box for cap+sunscreen. 3. Switch to summer-strength screen wash 4. Load up some summer tunes on the iPod Ok, it's still February so I might be being a bit ambitious ![]() |

Offline | Because havintg the roof down is not about enjoying the sun, its about being able to see more of your surroundings, the fresh air, and seeing the wonderful sky ![]() I think this winters been ace, really good for roof down motoring, far less cold than previous years, although the cold never stops me from topless motoring ![]() Like Paul said, theres nothing better than a bit of night time topless driving ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |
