Offline | The big advantage of soft top is that the design of the car (when roof open) is clean and unchange. You can notice that, even the roof is open, it's not so visible behind the rear seats on the mini On the contrary, hard top are "include" and very often the back of the car is really high and look "ugly". in fact you "see" that the back of the car contain the roof". Designers try to do their best... but still hard to do (the mx5 version is not bad in this case)-------------------------------------------------------------------- MINI COOPER S SIDEWALK - Sparkling Silver - Cuir Malt Brown - Jantes 17" Night Spoke -------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Offline | Would agree in part with this, as many of the retractable hard top cars can look a little on the querky side and also the arched roof on some makes is not to everyones taste. I do feel the 207CC is better than most in this respect in keeping its rump as low possible, its all about compromise with these cars, for me alot of my driving is urban and the thought of leaving a softop in some places I wouldn't even contemplate so a hard top seems a far more sensible choice, I also have to say unless you go for a multilayered soft top then the current breed of CC are more refined with the roof up. The only downside of any CC is the extra weight, at the end of the day its what you prefer in a cabriolet and the CC does a good job of being 2 cars in 1 ![]() Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |

Offline | Girls car versus Guys car attitude You don't seem to like this thread for some reason so why bother. The original question I asked as Dawn pointed out was about soft top cars against Tip top retractables and to gain some thoughts on the subject, pros and cons etc and to have some light hearted leg pulling along the way, (I love you really Dawn ) Every one is protective of their own pride and joy but its interesting to have a good debate between different makes of car that try and serve the same purpose. If you don't like what's being discussed then maybe wheel your pram into another thread ![]() ![]() ![]() Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |
