Offline | MINI Cabriolet I've put my name down with my dealer for a Cabriolet on the 18/9/02. ..the evening I picked up our MCS. Anyone else on a list? Anyone any news? I have heard MINI are working on a dropping hardtop a la Peugot CC and very unlike the "pram" roof in this photo. Has anyone got one of these bespokes? eBrit |

| MINI2 Senior | I sincerly hope they can make a Peugeot cc/Mercedes SL(K)-alike folding hardtop MINI-cabrio. Even if it means sacrificing luggage space completely (the little space whe currently have...). A MINI coupé/convertible in one MINI, yeah bay yeah! A folding roof like the one on he picture is both ugly and impractical. Eagerly awaiting more news on the convertible Daver ======================================= ---There can be only ONE--- ---Trust no ONE--- |

Offline | I was thinking of doing the same thing when I picked up my S (14/09/02) - did you have to put down a deposit? How much did the dealer estimate the Carbrio to cost? When can you expect delivery? Sorry about the inquistition but I'd love to have an open top 'S' - imagine that supercharge whine with the roof down . . . heaven! |

Offline | No deposit. I also made it conditional that if I didn't like what eventually was on offer I can transfer my name to the straight MCS list. Guesstimate...available April 2004. eBrit |

Offline | Thanks for the info. Will enquire about making an order with similar get out clauses in case it's a duffer. Cheers! EB/W Cooper S - Chilli Pack - Sunroof - MFSW - build date August '02 |

Offline | What about the wagon (Clubman estate)? I would love to have a MINI with a few extra inches of rear legroom and cargo space. A MINI Cooper S wagon would be even better!!! '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | Re: Re: convert I had a random letter from MINI saying that the convertible (and other models which I can't remember, I'll try to dig out the letter) will be available in the next 18 months. So sounds about right. |

Offline | R52 Sounds about right. I'd expect show cars late spring 2003 not much later. Good magazines could expect to get spy shots from about Dec 2002 onward. 2004 sounds reasonable for full production. R52 is the designated model number. You heard it here first. MiNiGuY. ![]() |

Offline | AidenL - I'd assume not, considering the R52 designation, which I gave away exclusively to MINI2,dare I say it, maybe world exclusively,in my last post. Hopefully not to my own detriment!! Dunno if that bugger will have red seats yet either Aiden ![]() |

Offline | R52 I would have to be suicidal to say any more. I enjoy letting titbits of info out a little bit early, because it's not going to be long before the mags etc report this anyway. However I've given enough info about myself over the last few months for BMW to pinpoint me and come down on me like a ton of bricks!! They haven't as it goes, and i'd like to keep it that way!! ![]() |

Offline | Re: R52 AMEN to that MiNiGuY!...and very interesting news! However...disconnected to you....MINI claim "you join a gang"...they don't seem to have grasped the full meaning of this at the moment...and I have all their marketing contact names and telephone numbers!!!! (Press Connections ) I really wan't to discuss.I was really chuffed to get BMW's permission to have access to their shipping/transportation arrangements...but I really do believe they can "ooomph" their marketing / sales PR by "being really part of the gang"! (See Delivery Threads et al) ps MiNiGuY!, WHAT do the coloured discs mean????? MiNiGuY!...put me out of my misery! eBrit ![]() |

Offline | Re: Re: R52 Tried to p.m you but your box was full mate. I'll try again. ...Nope. still full. Basically not sure about the colour stickers. I'll see if I can find out. They are nothing to do with the actual building process as they are only used on completed cars awaiting transportation indicating that they serve a holding/shipping purpose. If I find out more I'll let you know. As for vin lettering, I saw your thread briefly, and that question was answered correctly by BruceK or Basil I believe. All the best. |
