Hey everyone,

I read the post about roof stains; luckily I haven't had any exterior staining (I've had slight staining on the bits that point upwards when you put the roof down. I managed to use a bit of water to get it off and it hasn't come back so far) on my Sidewalk, although it's early days (I've had it since Oct '07). I've noticed recently that the roof has started squeaking quite loudly when I put the roof down. Does anyone else have this? Has anyone spoken to MINI about it and had feedback? If not I will contact them to see if this is normal.

Mine had a fairly squeaky roof - used vary in loudness depending on conditions - think it was worse when hotter....

Barons service department very carefully applied some silicone grease to parts of the mechanism which cured it. They had to be careful though to avoid grease spots on the fabric

Was done under warranty while it was in for a service. The doors and boot are are lubricated as part of a service, so just asked them to do the hood at the same time

Thanks for the help; I'm due for the first service (I think it's only oil) soon, so I'll tell them to sort it out then
