Offline | My mistake this time mgMINI, this time it's me that misunderstood what you wrote - you are absolutely right, any MINI dealer that would sell a Cabrio below MSRP would be nuts to do so!! My dealer pretty much said the same thing as yours - "I'm selling every single Cabrio I get at MSRP" I can tell you that after talking with the sales guys at my dealer recently (I drop by now and then to say hello, I know everyone at the dealership on a first name basis now ), they have been getting a new kind of customer into the dealerships - the bargain hunters, people who want a trendy car that's 'higher class' than an economy car, but want to pay 'economy car' prices for them. And they are used to shady car sales reps who jack up the price on a Honda, Toyota or Chevy, and so expect the MINI's price to be jacked up too!!!So you get 'shoppers' walking into a MINI dealership saying stuff like " Why is your MINI Classic so expensive? I can get a fully loaded Honda Civic Coupe with more horsepower and a sunroof for 21k, can you match that price with the Cooper Classic, which doesn't have this stuff?" It's enough to make one throw up in disgust!!! |

Offline | I'm led to believe that the Cooper S will not even be launched this year, but in the Spring of 2005... I'm quoting Summer '05 deliveries now... But what a beast it will be! |

Offline | Also my first post! I was told by MINI Crowfoot in Calgary that we are #1 on their list [we are in Edmonton, about 3 hours away, and there is no dealer here yet] . We paid a $1,000 refundable deposit. My wife will be driving the convertible and I will be driving my 2002 Cooper. We could very well be the first in Edmonton to have 2 MINI's and the first in town to have a convertible. My wife liked the BRG convertible with the Beige interior in the pics from Geneva, so she will probably be getting that colour combination. The dealer told us that they may have a demo in July and we could order then with an expected delivery date in September or October. Just in time for winter! |

Offline | Cooper S Cabrio We have just ordered our Cooper S Cabrio. We are number 8 on an allocation of 10. £500 refundable holding deposit. Expected delivery is not until 2005. No price or specs available at this stage, but we will be invited back the dealership when they have the One/Cooper Cabrio 'in the metal'. If we decide we still want to go ahead a further deposit of £500 will be required. Strange concept to shell out money on a car you that you really know very little about. Exciting though. In the end you have nothing to loose! Looking forward to seeing a real life Cabrio to give me a taster of what is to come! Chili Red MCSC |

| Impatient for R57! | You lucky, lucky people! I placed my order for a new Cabrio in March 2002 (honest!) just 3 months after I got my One. But even now the only dealer in Luxembourg can't tell me ANYTHING about the car - no delivery dates, no prices, no options - NOTHING! But that seems all too typical here - there is almost an arrogance about sellling the MINI, or a disinterest becuase they'd much rather you bought one of their bigger expensive BMWs instead..... |

Offline | Mini Convertible Delivery Dates and Spec Hi. I'm apparently no 7 on my local scottish dealers list for a cooper. I had to go in last night and pick the spec, went for chilli red, with chilli pack, a few extras and a red and chrome line interior. It was really hard to choose though because there are no pictures of the interior for the cooper in red and no fabric swatches. Anyone else had the same problem? Also, does anyone else know anything else about delivery? I was told September (but that was back in January) and I suspect its going to be slightly earlier. Anyone else heard when the first batch are coming out? |

Offline | I have just returned from 2 weeks away to a load of messages from my dealer. Apparently if I get my spec in by Saturday I will get a delivery date notification next Monday, and they expect it to be earlier than first indicated (which was Mid June-Early July). Fingers crossed! Goodbye TinTop Red & Black, Hello Astro Black Cooper Convertible! |
